She's more than just Snow White.
Ginnifer Goodwin, now 39 years old, is mainly known for her role as Snow White in the hit ABC show “Once Upon A Time.”
But did you know she changed her name from Jennifer to Ginnifer to distinguish her name?
Goodwin is more than just her role as Snow White, so here are five facts about the amazing actress.
Yeah, Snow White and Prince Charming are living happily ever after in real life, too.
The two weren’t single when they first met on set. Josh Dallas, who plays Prince Charming in “Once Upon A Time,” was married to “Sherlock” star Lara Pulver. Goodwin, on the other hand, was engaged to Joey Kern. So, they first started out as friends, a source told E! News.
But Goodwin eventually broke off her engagement and Dallas divorced Pulver due to the long-distance relationship. Once he got divorced, his connection with Goodwin deepened.
And they never doubted their relationship once they fell in love.
“The relationship has been full-on since the moment it turned romantic,” a source told E! News. “And they spend every moment together. There was no reason to wait and take it slow — they fell in love, and it feels right.”
They started dating in 2012, became engaged in 2013 and married in 2014.
Their wedding was an intimate ceremony held in front of 30 of their closest friends and family in Los Angeles. “We are so thrilled … and can’t wait to celebrate with our friends and family, including our second family at ‘Once Upon a Time,’” the couple said, according to People.
They also have two sons together. Oliver Finlay Dallas was born in 2013 and Hugo Wilson Dallas was born in 2016.
According to Celebrity Net Worth, her reported net worth last year was $8 million, but other sites such as Go Banking Rates reports a net worth of $5 million.
Regardless of the amount, she makes most of her money from her TV shows, including “Once Upon A Time” and “Big Love.” She also now owns a $3.45 million mansion in Encino, California with her husband.
Goodwin began her career in acting in an episode of “Law & Order.” She then got her big break in the TV show “Ed” as Diane Snyder from 2001 to 2003. In addition, she starred in “Win A Date with Tad Hamilton,” “He’s Just Not That Into You” and “Ramona and Beezus” before landing her role in “Big Love” from 2006 to 2011. After the HBO show, she was a voice in “Robot Chicken,” where her sister Melissa Goodwin was the stop animator.
During this time, she received her role in “Once Upon A Time,” but she recently announced that the sixth season was her last season on the show.
Goodwin and Dallas are part of the multiple actors separating from the show. As sad as it is, Goodwin talked to Entertainment Weekly about her decision to leave the show.
“What came with the bittersweet decision to give these characters a happy ending — and the timing couldn’t have been more perfect for that — is room for a new story to grow and flourish as Snow and Charming’s did,” Goodwin said.
As much as we’ll miss our badass Snow, we’re excited to see her future endeavors.
Her sons Oliver, three, and Hugo, one, are the product of true love.
She gave birth to Oliver one month after her wedding, and she told DailyMail that she plans on having as many kids as she can.
“[Motherhood] is so much better [than I thought],” Goodwin said. “It makes me feel like acting is not at all creative, but being a parent [is]. Anybody who’s a parent I want to, like, give an Oscar to.”
According to DailyMail, Goodwin and Dallas recently took their sons to Disneyland, and it was the cutest thing ever.
She’s starring in the play “Constellations” by English playwright Nick Payne at the Geffen Playhouse. The play depicts the relationship between Marianne, a physicist, and Roland, a beekeeper, across multiple realities.
According to The Los Angeles Times, the play explores “the idea that the past, present and future all exist simultaneously, and that there are infinite versions of the universe in which infinite versions of us live out the consequences of the choices we didn’t make.”
Goodwin told the L.A. Times that she chose to star in the play because she missed the theater, something she used to be a part of in high school.
All in all, Ginnifer Goodwin has stolen our hearts with her role as Snow White, and we have no doubt she’ll only continue to impress us with her amazing acting. From acting in high school plays to plays at the Geffen Playhouse, her career is only moving up.
