ENTITY reports Lily Collins and Hailee Steinfeld overjoyed at golden globes nominations.

You never forget your first time. That’s certainly true for actresses Hailee Steinfeld and Lily Collins who are ecstatic at receiving their first ever Golden Globe nominations.

The pair went public with their joy soon after landing best actress nominations in Monday morning’s announcement.

Lily Collins, daughter of singer Phil Collins, took to social media to post a pic taken by her mom Jill Tavelman of the moment she learned she was a best actress nominee for playing a Hollywood ingénue in “Rules Don’t Apply.

She also issued a statement in which she said,  “I’ve never felt so shocked, honored, and proud … Sharing this moment with my mom sitting on our couch in the dark is something I’ll never forget. It’s a complete dream come true. I still can’t breathe.”

Hailee Steinfeld celebrated her 20th birthday the day before the nominations came out and was celebrating again when she was named in the same category as Collins for high school movie, “The Edge of Seventeen.”

“I am overcome with excitement and joy to be nominated,” she said in a statement.  “We set out to make a film that would resonate with men and women of all ages because the message of self-acceptance and embracing your truth is universal. Contrary to the reality that I face as a young actress on a daily basis, ‘Eo17’ isn’t a film about a teenage girl wrestling with her identity and self-worth because of the influence of social media defining her popularity. Instead, it’s an anthem for self-acceptance and I’m so grateful to (producer) Jim Brooks and (director) Kelly Fremon-Craig for granting me the opportunity to play such a complex and unlikely heroine.”

She also took to Twitter to reveal the nomination had moved her to tears.

The most nominated film for the Golden Globes is “La La Land” – the film’s seven nominations include best actress and actor for its stars, Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling.

Television is also represented at the Globes and acclaimed miniseries “The People v. O.J. Simpson,” has landed five nominations while in the best drama series category established hit “Game of Thrones” battles four new shows, “Stranger Things,” “The Crown,” “Westworld” and “This Is Us.”

There is plenty of welcome diversity among the nominations. One year after the #OscarsSoWhite controversy caused by only white performers getting Oscar nominations in the acting categories, Globe voters named six black acting nominees, including Viola Davis for “Fences” and Ruth Negga for “Loving.”

“Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon will host the Golden Globes which will be screened live on NBC on Jan. 8, 2017.
