What's in store for Season 14?

As a little refresher for the Sept. 28 return – because it feels like it’s been forever since we saw “Grey’s Anatomy” on screen – we decided to put together a comprehensive list of the characters still on the show.
The “Grey’s Anatomy” cast has been changing since they first aired the show a little over 12 years ago. But even with the cast constantly leaving or dying, “Grey’s Anatomy” finds a way to make each remaining and new character on the show feel like a friend we know personally.
Of course, we mourn the loss of characters like George O’Malley (T.R. Night) Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey) and, the greatest of them all, Christina Yang (Sandra Oh).
But we also celebrate the ones still here. So, here are the faces you should expect to see on the Season 14 premier.
Of course Meredith Grey is coming back to the show. Without her, there wouldn’t be “Grey’s Anatomy.”
With the upcoming season, we hope to see what’s in store for her love life and what other disaster she’s going to have to face. We also can’t wait for her motivational speeches that make us want to be better people.
Our favorite quote: “When the ground gives way and your world collapses, maybe you just need to have faith. And trust that you can survive this. Maybe you just need to hold on tight. And no matter what, don’t let go.”
Alex Karev is one of the original interns still standing on the show. Compared to others who have left the show like Sandra Oh (Christina Yang) and Katherine Heigl (Izzy Stevens), Karev is here to stay. With everything he went through in season 13, Karev deserves to be happy. We hope he gets the happiness he deserves in the upcoming season.
Our favorite quote: “Maybe I’m a pig. Maybe I’m an ass. Maybe I’m a vermin like everybody says, but I tell them the ruth, it’s the one thing that I’ve got going for me.”
And that why we love you Karev, speak your mind.
I couldn’t imagine a season without Miranda Bailey. Or, rather, Chief Bailey. With her new position as Chief, she is most definitely going to be returning to the show. Besides, how can we have a medical show without the one and only Miranda Bailey? It’s just not possible and not acceptable.
Our favorite quote: “You can cover the pit or you can… you can tell me whose damn panties are on the bulletin board?”
Richard Webber has been an integral part of the “Grey’s Anatomy” cast from the very first episode. He may not be chief anymore, but he still holds the same respect he did as Chief Webber. Plus, we don’t think we can ever be seen as a regular doctor again. Dr. Webber is always there to give advice to the doctors of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, and to teach the interns how to be the best doctors they can be.
Webber is like everyone’s father figure on the show and we love every minute of it.
Our favorite quote: “It’s good to be scared. It means you still have something to lose.”
The greatest pediatric surgeon is back! Arizona Robbins has survived a plane crash, losing a leg and a divorce. We thought Arizona found love again last season, but it seems like she’s going to deal with another heartbreak. We can’t wait until Arizona finds someone who deserves her. She’s waited long enough.
Our favorite quote: “You have a shot! You have a chance! And it may be small and it may be risky but it’s a chance!”
You have a chance too Arizona, we believe that.
Although we didn’t get much of a storyline with April Kepner last season, she did give birth to her daughter with Jackson Avery. Even after their divorce, they seem like they’re doing good at co-parenting. Maybe they will reunite and become “Japril” again in season 14. We can only hope.
Our favorite quote: “I am not an ugly duckling. I’m a swan.”

We’re glad Jackson Avery is coming back for season 14 because I mean just look at him. Who wouldn’t want him on your TV screen. But other than his looks, he’s also a great doctor and an absolute sweetheart. We also hope he has more screen time this upcoming season with Kepner, of course.
Our favorite quote: “I love you. I always have. I love everything about you, even the things I don’t like I love.”
After Christina Yang left “Grey’s Anatomy,” Owen Hunt seemed to find love again with Amelia Shepherd. Although their relationship is going through some tough times right now, we hope Hunt finds someone that will give him the family he deserves.
Our favorite quote: “I had my dreams and they are over now. Now I’m going to be this single guy. No wife, no kids, no family.”
You’ll find you’re happiness, Owen. Just hang on.
Amelia Shepherd has been M.I.A. from season 13. She disappeared after she got married to Owen Hunt, which makes us wonder where their relationship stands. We hope to get some answers soon.
Our favorite quote: “I’m sick to death of people wanting to discuss my feelings.”
Jo Wilson’s relationship with Alex Karev has been pretty bumpy this past season. And things are going to get more intense. Jo’s real husband may be coming to the show for season 14 and all we can think about is the drama that will unfold when Karev meets her husband.
Our favorite quote: “It’s paranoid, I get that. I don’t always trust people who are trying to help me.”
With Maggie Pierce still being kind of new to “Grey’s Anatomy,” we really only know she’s Meredith Grey’s half-sister. Not much more than that. We did find out about her mother having cancer this past season, but we still haven’t gotten to know a lot about her. She’s the cardiothoracic surgeon, and is the complete opposite of Christina Yang, who also specialized in that field. But what else is she? Hopefully we learn more in season 14.
Our favorite quote: “If you feel uncomfortable having done it, check your white privilege and don’t do it again.”
Nathan Riggs is the new romance in Meredith Grey’s life. And even thought no one can replace Derek Shepherd, we hope he can at least make Meredith happy. She deserves that.
Our favorite quote: “You’re scared. Of him. Of letting him go. At some point you’ve got to let go.”
Benjamin Warren has had a really intense season these past couple of seasons. But recently, he’s been told he’s being too safe and picking surgeries that will most likely do well. Will Warren step out of his rut?
Our favorite quote: “Behold, everything the light touches is yours. Congratulations Chief.”
It has recently been announced that the fan favorite character Teddy Altman will return to season 14. She will appear in multiple episodes that involve the return of Owen’s sister. We definitely missed Teddy Altman and we can’t wait to see her back on our screens.
Our favorite quote: “When you feel like you love someone more than they love you, it can make you a little crazy.”
Andrew DeLuca suffered quite the injury when Alex Karev almost beat him to death from a misunderstanding involving Jo. Although DeLuca is still an intern, we’ve learned that he’s a character who is willing to forgive.
Our favorite quote: “Nobody wants to talk to me, let alone live with me.”
Catherine Avery is one powerful woman on “Grey’s Anatomy.” She’s one of the owners of “Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital,” and a strong, independent woman. While her relationship with Richard Webber is finally on the right track, she shows that you can be fine without a man. And we’re here for it.
Our favorite quote: “I don’t play favorites dear. Nepotism is for the weak.”
