Entity magazines spreads the news on some awesome tips and tricks that can be used when wondering how to style curly hair with no time.

I have extremely curly, wild, large hair.

Once, I wrote a small book for an undergrad assignment about how wearing it wild and free shaped instances in my travels abroad. (People really liked touching it.)

Sometimes I spend days on end trying to style it, getting it done quarter by quarter. I lay awake at night after a wash day dreading the ache in my arms to come. But life should never be that hard, so I’m going clue you guys in on how to style curly hair when you have no time.

1 Wear a Scarf.

This is actually my method of styling today. Take a colorful scarf that matches your outfit — it can be a light, wispy scarf for summer wear or a thicker scarf for winter wear. Secure your curls, then tie the scarf on that dome.

There are a million ways to wear a wrap. You could have infinite opportunities for fabulous styles and there’s the benefit of feeling like royalty with a cloth crown. I’d start scarf shopping now if I were you.

2 Braids

You don’t have to spend hours in an uncomfortable chair getting teeny tiny braids. I’ve been there multiple times and I want to save you. There are plenty of fast and cute styles that you can do at home, and in a hurry.

The French braids leave you with a cool Pippi Longstocking look. (Overalls Optional.) And the Crown (or Halo) braids are the second style on our list that can upgrade your look to royal. Both styles can last at least a few days if cared for properly.

3 Twists

I would start this video at 3:30 because until then there’s a lot of hair tossing. Twists are an awesome protective styling for your curls. They’re how I’ve been styling my hair for about a year.

The ones in Jasmine’s video are pretty small, but you can go any size. The larger ones are great to wear and then unfurl for soft, loose and big curls.  My twists are usually very small. Then I pin them into Bantu knots overnight and unleash them in the morning for a curly ‘do.

4 Hats

I LOVE hats. It’s a problem about which you can ask anyone. When I didn’t have time to do my hair over last semester (because Grad school is SO real) I twisted the front and then slapped one of my many hats on.

YouTuber Angela Lauren pulls her hair back into something called a ‘target’ that can fit into hats that have a great deal of space. Snapbacks, top hats, fascinators — ladies, the sky’s the limit.

5 Wash N Go

Let your hairs do what they want! That was my go-to style for sophomore, junior AND senior year of college. Mostly because sophomore year my friend Sabrina took a picture of me that the school used in its study abroad marketing campaign for three years.

I just washed/conditioned my hair, applied some product and rolled out. But YouTuber Jakeia.b has a great wash and go routine that involves letting it set overnight and then picking it out in the morning. And she sounds a lot like Wanda Sykes. But maybe that’s just me.

There you have it, ladies! Five easy breezy ways to look great and not waste any time. Because we all know time is money.
