This week “Saturday Night Live” imagined Attorney General Jeff Sessions as Forrest Gump sitting on a park bench … and revealing the Trump administration’s many ties to Russia.

Played hilariously by Kate McKinnon – who else? – Jeff Sessions Gump stuffed his face with chocolates as he chatted with stranger after stranger about how cool it is to work in the White House, and how he misses pal “Kelly!” (In the same cadence as “Jenny!”) speaking on TV.

He even called out to #couchgate, showing the infamous picture of Kellyanne Conway on her knees on the Oval Office’s couch, as he compared her to Forrest’s beloved pal Lt. Dan from the 1994 drama.

“This is my friend Kellyanne. She ain’t got no legs. Why you ain’t got no legs, Kellyanne?” McKinnon (as Sessions Gump) asked, holding back laughter.

McKinnon even shouted iconic “Forrest Gump” line “Run, Jeffrey, Run!” while Sessions Gump explained why he was sitting at that bench. He said his lawyers told him to run after waking up to “800 messages saying I was a sneaky, little liar.”

And after “SNL” star Aidy Bryant showed up on the bench, Sessions Gump admitted to being just that, clearing his conscience by saying he “talked to the Russians,” and then rattling off a list of other top Trump officials who had as well.

The bit ended with a visit from the night’s host, Octavia Spencer, as her “The Help” character Minny. She offered Sessions Gump her infamous chocolate pie – with that unforgettable secret ingredient – and he happily dove in to mark the end of the evening’s hilarious cold open.

Entity reports on the Jeff Sessions Forrest Gump Saturday Night Live sketch that reminds us of an alternate poster we made last week.

The Jeff Sessions Forrest Gump Saturday Night Live sketch reminds us of an alternate movie poster we made featuring The Donald.

The sketch reminded us of a graphic ENTITY crafted this past week, which imagined another member of the current administration as Forrest Gump – Trump himself.

“Forrest Trump” calls to mind a particular line of advice from the film’s titular character’s mother, “Stupid is as stupid does.”

And of course, though both the poster and the “SNL” sketch are jokes, the material behind it – not understanding healthcare, communication with Russia, etc. – is painfully true. Forrest Trump and Jeff Sessions Gump are so funny… it hurts.
