Millennial Momagers are all the rage
Modern day parenting seems to have one new factor, social media. From the day kids are born until the day they move out, their lives are shared online. However, one particular mom is using social media as a tool to teach her children how to remain true to themselves.
Mindy Bingham, mother of the This is How We Bingham family, resides in Utah with her husband and four children. But what makes them different than the typical modern day family? They share their daily lives on their YouTube channel which currently sits at about 700,000 subscribers and counting. You may even recognize the family from their viral frozen kitten video that circulated the media in 2016.
In the mix of it all, Mindy states, “Now some days may not be easy. Some days you just want to stay in bed in your jammies, but we always rise to the occasion that every day has the potential to be great! It’s a choice we get to make. So MAKE today great and choose to be happy!”
In 2012, Mindy and her husband, Branden, started their family YouTube channel. Throughout the years they have given their subscribers a glimpse into their day to day lives. From their birth of their five children to family vacations, their subscribers have been with them through it all.
Both parents work from home creating content for their digital presence. According to Forbes, “more millennial women are working at home compared to their mothers and the women who came before. And thanks to technology, they don’t have to miss out on jobs while doing so.”
Mindy showcases that being able to work from home as a mother doesn’t have to involve just cleaning and cooking.
Along with their YouTube channel the family also runs a blog and other various social media accounts. Mindy’s part in the operation of this all is creating content revolving around her grocery hauls, recipe creations and parenting tips.
In many of their videos, you can hear the Bingham kids talk about their new found internet fame. They explain how peers at school watch their videos everyday, and how awesome it is to have the occasional fan stop them on the streets to say hello. So in the midst of their internet fame how do they keep their kids grounded and teach them to remain humble?
Raising children in the digital world seems to be an overwhelming job. Between finding that balance of connecting with your audience and juggling the daily routines of your family, Mindy makes it all look easy.
Life comes at you fast and at the end of it, for most, they want to look back and be able to say that they no regrets. As Mindy explains on her Instagram, “As beautiful as the craziness is sometimes we need to take a step back.
I do feel this has to be learned. We aren’t all the same and so that means we all have to learn how we soak in moments individually. Try to figure out how you can unplug from the chaos of life and be IN THE MOMENT. “
