Entity details the ultimate graduation guide.

It’s your last year in college! Every day is a struggle to balance the stress of your upper division classes and the GE courses you put off for three years. Overwhelmed, you have to start making huge decisions about post-grad life as well as maintain friendships, find time to sleep and call your mom.

During this time, you feel pulled between the “now” and the “not yet” and the waiting can almost drive you crazy! Although you can’t wait to walk across that stage at the end of the year, you are not done just yet. ENTITY has a checklist to help make the most out of your last months spent in school as you figure life out and start writing your new beginning.

6 months before graduation.

1 Speak with your professors.

Set up meetings with your favorite professors and schedule a few minutes during office hours to talk about your future. Listen to their stories, ask for the advice and take note of the wisdom they will share with you.

2 Spend a weekend with your best friends.

It doesn’t have to be an expensive getaway. However, go somewhere with no homework for the weekend and spend time laughing and playing with your friends. These are some of your last months together. Cherish them.

3 Start talking about post-grad living situations.

Plan where you want to live, whether that’s close to school or elsewhere. Be open and honest and start talking about where you want to be in six months.

4 Look for an internship.

This last semester is a great opportunity to start building your resume in your desired field. Many companies will hire you after your internship is over; this will be a lifesaver come the Monday after graduation.

5 Make a bucket list for your last semester.

This is it! There will never be a time like this again in your life, so fill it with joy and all the wonderful, obligation-free aspects of college.

3 months before graduation.

1 Plan a trip for your last break!

Don’t just work or go home during your final break. Instead, go somewhere new with your friends and spend the days talking about your dreams and your plans. Take advantage of this time to rest and recharge with your tribe. Backpacking is a great option!

2 Start solidifying your living/working plans.

Nothing needs to be set in stone yet, but you need to be serious about what you want from the next year and who you want in your life.

3 Ask for letters of recommendation.

The end of the year will come quicker than you think. Make sure you submit your requests for letters of recommendation and contacts for job searches early enough for your professors to get back to you.

4 Start looking for jobs in your field.

It’s never too soon to start the conversation flowing with a possible employer!

5 Visit your favorite locations!

Make sure to visit all your favorite restaurants, coffee shops and neighborhoods before you go! Play tourist in your college town and fall in love with your school all over again!

One month before graduation.

1 Join campus events.

Go to one on campus event with all your friends, dance like fools and have the best night! You will be crying and laughing the whole time, and who cares if the freshman are awkward?

2 Lock down an apartment.

Confirm your post-grad living situation, look for apartments and visit new places. You want to start lease negotiations as close to graduation as possible.

3 Say thank you

Write thank you notes to your favorite professors and make sure to attend all the senior activities your school provides.

4 Check in with financial aid.

Make sure all your loan paperwork is taken care of.

5 Treat yo self!

Treat yourselves to a fancy dinner to celebrate your graduation with all your best friends. Get dressed up, celebrate your huge accomplishments and remember to bring champagne!
