ENTITY reports on National Pizza Day.

On February 9th, pizza lovers all across America serve themselves some flatbread goodness on National Pizza Day. National Pizza Day is a day to honor the cheesy, the thin crust-y and the deep dish-y.

There is more to pizza than just pepperoni and sausage, though.

To prove it, here are five meaty facts about pizza.

1 The worlds longest pizza weighed little over a mile long.

It took an army of 100, but the longest pizza in the world title goes to the group of people who made a delicious deep dish Chicago pizza. The pizza was made in California and was baked with 20,000 pounds of dough, 3,000 pounds of sauce and 5,000 pounds of cheese.

Tony Troiano, a volunteer pizza, maker said he was ecstatic when he found out the team broke the record.

“It was an amazing feeling after such hard work. [It was] a combination of excitement and exhaustion form working all night but we were elated for actually breaking the record,” he told ABC News. “There were major obstacles we had to overcome but we worked together and that made it all the better.”

The pizza did not go to waste, either. Over 20,000 to 30,000 slices were distributed to homeless shelters.

2 The most expensive pizza costs $200 per slice.

If you thought paying $20 dollars for one pizza was too much, try paying $2,000 dollars for a pizza. The 24K Pizza, made by Industry Kitchen in New York, is covered in 24-karat gold flakes. That’s not the only expensive topping on the pizza, though.

The pizza also includes toppings, such as imported white stilton cheese, Osetra caviar, truffles and foie gras. The maker of the pizza, Chef Braulio Bunay says if you are looking to go the fancier route, then this pizza is right for you.

“It is the epitome of decadence. The pizza is extremely rich – if you’re in the mood for a lavish meal, this is the pizza for you,” Bunay told Town & Country.

If you are interested in partaking in this “lavish meal,” you will need to order it 48 hours in advance.

3 The FBI wanted pizza delivered to a mental institution.

While investigating Southwood Psychiatric Hospital in San Diego for medical fraud, FBI agents decided to order pizza. Agents worked up an appetite after working through many hours of financial paperwork. The local pizzeria received a call from the case agent for the order and below are bits from the conversation that took place, as reported by Snopes:

Agent: Hello. I would like to order nineteen large pizzas and sixty-seven cans of soda.
Pizza man: And where would you like them delivered?
Agent: To the Southwood Psychiatric Hospital.
Pizza man: To the psychiatric hospital?
Agent: That’s right. I’m an FBI agent.
Pizza man: You’re an FBI agent?
Agent: That’s correct. Just about everybody here is.
Pizza man: I don’t think so.

4 In Cambodia, “Happy Pizza” gets you high.

If you thought having a slice of pizza was a slice of heaven, Cambodia’s “Happy Pizza” will actually make you feel like you are flying into heaven. Cambodia’s “Happy Pizza” has a highly popularized ingredient: marijuana.

Vice writer Max Winkler shared the pizza experience that sent him into the clouds.

“I was satisfied after finishing – happy just to have consumed a delicious pizza for around $7.50, and the two beers I had washed it down for only $.50 each. Fair price. At that point, however, I had no idea what was to come in about two hours’ time, and no clue just how much this small investment would pay off,” Winkler wrote.

“High like never before, I took to the streets of Phnom Penh, overjoyed at everything I saw. I remember, for example, a small group of dogs that ‘adopted’ me into their pack,” he added.

5 A woman “married” pizza.

When most people say “I do,” they say it to a person. Eighteen-year-old Christine Wagner, however, said made marriage vows with pizza.

It started out as a joke. Wagner posted a photo on Facebook and captioned it with, “Wearing grandma’s wedding dress … I’m getting married but it’s to pizza. Sorry boys, I’m a taken woman!”

Photographer Marcy Harris then came across this post and wanted to take it to the next level. Harris thought that it would only be suitable for Wagner to have a wedding photo shoot. In these photos, Wagner was in a wedding gown kissing her pizza. She also dressed the pizza up in a bow tie.

Harris also explained to Metro that they decided to make more additions to the shoot.

“We debated about having bacon roses, but because her mum was bit worried about the dress getting dirty, we decide to stick with just a couple of basic props,” Harris shared.

And even if you’re not in the same pizza-loving realm as Christine Wagner, you could still see where she’s coming from. In the words of Kevin James, “There’s no better feeling in the world than a warm pizza box on your lap.”

Preach it.
