patricia arquette keynote entity academy

Los Angeles, CA — Oscar-winning actress and activist Patricia Arquette has officially signed on to be the keynote speaker for ENTITY Academy’s Entertainment and Business Collectives.

The A-list actress will be at ENTITY HQ on June 10th to kick off our 2019 ENTITY Academy, addressing #NextGen female leaders interested in entertainment and business careers, who have been accepted into ENTITY’s highly-selective mentorship program.

As an Emmy, Oscar, BAFTA and Golden-Globe-winning actress, Arquette has established herself as a powerhouse in Hollywood. She is best known for her authentic and captivating performances across film and TV, including Medium, Boyhood, Escape at Dannemora and Boardwalk Empire to name a few. Currently, you can watch her on Hulu’s new true-crime series The Act.

Arquette’s passion for acting is only rivaled by her passion for activism. The Oscar-winner has been using her platform to advocate for women long before #MeToo. In 2015, she famously used her Oscar acceptance speech to catapult the gender pay gap in Hollywood to the national stage, saying, “To every woman who gave birth, to every taxpayer and citizen of this nation, we have fought for everybody else’s equal rights. It’s time to have wage equality once and for all. And equal rights for women in the United States of America.”

In 2017, she took her fight for equality to the global stage and helped launch the UN’s Equal Pay Platform of Champions, in order to bring the issue of pay inequality to global policymaker’s doorsteps, saying “In all fields, at all levels of society, and across all countries, wage inequalities between men and women is a blatant reality which impacts the lives of many. How much longer are we going to allow it?”

On top of that she’s a key advocate for #EqualMeansEqual, a documentary film and grassroots campaign dedicated to ratifying the Equal Rights Amendment.

But her activism doesn’t end there. Arquette formed GiveLove with childhood friend Rosetta Millington-Getty following the devastating earthquake in Haiti. The non-profit is designed to support ecological sanitation and composting, community development projects and housing construction in Haiti. She has also helped raise money for breast cancer and has been an outspoken proponent of animal rights.

Actress. Activist. Champion for Women. Patricia Arquette is truly the embodiment of #WomenThatDo.
