She's unconventional, relatable and totally our favorite rebel.

She stole our hearts on OITNB and her androgynous style is ridiculously cool. So, we were totally stoked when he heard that Ruby Rose will be taking the big screen for her role in “Pitch Perfect 3.” For those of you who aren’t quite updated, Ruby plays Calamity in the upcoming film, the leader of a badass all-girls rock group. And she is also the main competition for the Bellas, making her public enemy number one.
But in real life, Ruby Rose actually seems like one of the sweetest people around. Here are the top five reasons we would totally make Ruby Rose our best friend.
She has the cutest pets around! Her roundup? Her dogs Ru and Daisy. Rose can be seen posting cute pics of her fur babies on Instagram. And she even made a special post for International Pets Day.
Another thing we adore about her love for animals? She is a huge advocate for animal rights and supports worldwide animal welfare. Bonus!
Not only does Ruby Rose support a healthy diet for herself, she urges her fans to pick one up as well. And by doing this, she is actually killing two birds with one stone. Although, you know, she wouldn’t actually do that because she’s pretty fond of birds.
So what else does being vegan accomplish besides just being healthy? According to Rose, it takes a stand against the Trump administration and his policies on climate change that will increase greenhouse gases. She urged her fans to become aware of the impact animal products have on the environment.
Ruby and Jess have the cutest relationship. Aside from their amazingly beautiful selfies, Ruby can’t stop talking about how perfect she thinks Jess is. And we ship it 100 percent.
On an Instagram video of her kissing her beau she posted, “I just watch [her performance on The Voice Australia] on repeat to get through each day … and trust me my phone is just 1000s of pictures of her and even more of her and the dogs.”
So sweet.
It’s evident in her Instagram posts that Ruby Rose doesn’t take herself too seriously. She posts memes that say, “Some days I amaze myself … other days I look for my phone while holding it.” Another one would read something like, “Autocorrect has yet to figure out how often I swear and how rarely I talk about ducks.”
On top of that, Ruby Rose also has some of the funniest videos on her page. Like the one with “Pitch Perfect 3” costar Hana Mae Lee, where they play baseball with a pine cone. Her self-depreciating humor is great and we’re all about it.
This it-girl makes it fashionable to be yourself. While the glam look is generally what’s considered hot, Ruby Rose doesn’t care. She is all about being comfortable and embraces menswear options (because clothing has no gender) … and looks seriously hot doing it.
With tattoos, blazers and baseball caps, her beauty isn’t conventional. And traditionally it would even be considered hard or off-putting. But because of her class mixed with her rebellious attitude, she makes totally pulls off the androgynous look.
So, Ruby Rose, thank you for being perfectly you and thank you for making it cool to be ourselves too.
