Actress Sara Ramirez came out as bisexual during a speech at the True Colors Fund’s 40 to None Summit, according to E! News.

Ramirez took to the stage to deliver a powerful speech about supporting the LGBTQ community. The inspirational woman teamed up with True Colors Fund, a nonprofit organization working to end homelessness for LGBTQ youth.

The female actress is famous for her former role on the ABC drama series “Grey’s Anatomy.” Ramirez played the character of Callie Torres, a bisexual doctor who has an on-screen romance with her co-worker Arizona Robbins (played by Jessica Capshaw).

Ramirez talked about her virtual reality video project – which she hopes will turn into a longer series – and shared her intention behind her latest venture.

“[The project’s intention] is not only to educate and create healthy, productive and healing civic dialogue in safe spaces, but it is also to create empathy – it is to create empathy for our youth in a world that is sorely lacking it,” Ramirez said.
