Entity reports on Selena Gomez's powerful speech at AMAs.

Selena Gomez is feeling the love from fellow pop stars after that brave speech at the American Music Awards addressing her mental health issues.

Support has been pouring in ever since the 24-year-old’s emotional return to the spotlight Sunday night in which she admitted having been “absolutely broken inside.”

Lady Gaga led the shower of praise, embracing Gomez backstage and posting to Instagram a picture of them together which she captioned, “So dope I got to hang with with the biggest rockstar of the night. (Ya,know besides Sting and Green Day) …the girl with the biggest prize of all a BIG Heart that she shares with the world.”

Gomez, looking stunning in a scarlet Prada gown, returned to the pop scene after months away to pick up her award as Favorite Female Pop/Rock Artist. She used the occasion to deliver a powerful speech about the circumstances which had prompted her to take a career break and enter rehab back in August to focus on her mental health.

“The Heart Wants What it Wants” singer drew cheers for her inspiring words, “If you are broken you do not have to stay broken.”

I think it’s safe to say that all of you know my life whether I like it or not. I had to stop because I had everything and I was absolutely broken inside. I kept it all together enough to where I would never let you down but I kept it too much together to where I let myself down. I don’t want to see your bodies on Instagram. I want to see what’s in here [holds chest]. I’m not trying to get validation nor do I need it anymore. All I can say from the bottom of my heart is I am so grateful that I have the opportunity to be able to share what I love every single day with people that I love. I have to say thank you so much to my fans because you guys are so damn loyal and I don’t know what I did to deserve you. If you are broken you do not have to stay broken. If that’s anything whether you respect me or not that’s one thing you should know about me. I care about people. Thank you so much for this. This is for you.”

Selena had previously explained that the mental health symptoms were related to her diagnosis with lupus and that she was taking time off after her world tour to deal with her health issues. Announcing the career break in People magazine back in August, she told fans, “As many of you know, around a year ago I revealed that I have lupus, an illness that can affect people in different ways. I’ve discovered that anxiety, panic attacks and depression can be side effects of lupus, which can present their own challenges. I want to be proactive and focus on maintaining my health and happiness and have decided that the best way forward is to take some time off. Thank you to all my fans for your support.”

Those fans around the world have continued their support, taking to social media to echo the celebrities by praising Gomez for her words from the American Music Awards stage.
