We're getting the Spring Breakers sequel no one wanted, Entity reports.

Matthew McConaughey is the first set to star in the upcoming follow-up to 2012’s “Spring Breakers.” “The Beach Bum,” is the sequel that no one wanted.

Guess he got tired of all the critical acclaim? Sick of Oscar buzz, eh, Matthew? Well, you’ve certainly come to the right place.

Now, look, I love movies. I try not to be too tough of a critic. I even like bad movies. They can be fun in their own way. And I really hate to hate a movie. But “Spring Breakers”… Man, that was bad.

It was trashy, self-indulgent and masquerading as art, which makes it even worse. I mean, I get why Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens did it. They were pulling a Miley Cyrus and trying to shake those Disney reps as fast as humanly possible.

And James Franco is just a weirdo. You never know what he’s going to do. I’m not sure braids and all that were really a great idea, but he’s a wild card so I guess it can’t be helped. But still, it’s kind of jarring.

All of the repetition, like they were unveiling some kind of major revelations in the film, as opposed to lingering on a few criminals having a threesome in a pool. It was honestly just too much. And now, we’re getting a second one. Have we not been through enough, Harmony Korine?

According to i-D, it’s going to take place in the same setting, though it likely won’t include the original cast. Instead, the “irreverent comedy” written and directed by Korine will be about “a rebellious and lovable rogue” named Moondog.

Hm, “a rebellious and lovable rogue” played by McConaughey. To quote Mandella from “10 Things I Hate About You,” “Oh, goody. Something new and different” for him!

For those who hate cinema (and perhaps also themselves?) “The Beach Bum” is due in theaters in 2018. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
