If you haven’t watched “Orange is the New Black,” you’re missing out on the fan-favorite inmate Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren.

She brings comedy and sadness to the show and we just can’t get enough of her. Our heart goes out to you and your struggles, Suzanne.

Here’s why we love her and why you should, too.

The Beginning of Crazy Eyes

We first see Suzanne Warren, played by Uzo Aduba, when she meets Piper at Litchfield Correctional Center. She becomes attached to Piper and wants to make her, her prison wife.

At first, she was introduced as the inmate that was easily angered and lashed out when she didn’t get her way. But as the seasons progressed, we learned more about her and her past.

Suzanne was originally nicknamed “Crazy Eyes” because of her trademarked “crazy” stares, but we found out that it also had to do with her mental illness. Because of it, she typically gets along better with kids. Crazy Eyes’ crime involved a little boy named Dylan who accompanied her to her apartment. But when they were alone and Dylan wanted to go home, Crazy Eyes got upset. Dylan ran near the closest window to escape, but she kept insisting him to stay away from the window. She didn’t want him to get hurt. However, it ended with Dylan accidentally falling out of the window, which led to his death.

Crazy Eyes doesn’t mean to hurt others, though. She’s actually one of the sweetest and most loyal inmates on the show. And she’s got so much to love about her.

1 Crazy Eyes wrote an erotic novel.

Crazy Eyes is definitely a creative type.

In season three, Suzanne began her journey as a writer by writing an epic tale of love and lust in outer space. As bizarre as this sounds, it left everyone in the prison wanting more. And why wouldn’t they? Who wouldn’t want to find out what happened to two people falling in love with four other people and aliens?

Tell us about a greater plot twist. We’ll wait.

2 She’s the most loyal person to have by your side.

If you’re friends with her, she will have your back through anything. She’s the kind of friend that, without a doubt, would kill for you. Literally.

When Suzanne followed Vee around in season three, her commitment to her was so strong that she fought Poussey because Vee told her to. Although this relationship was manipulated, it showed how Crazy Eyes took matters of friendship and loyalty very seriously.

3 She isn’t afraid to ask for help.

Sometimes when she can’t do something, Crazy Eyes isn’t afraid to ask for help. She even encourages others to do so, too.

In season five, when she saw Maureen struggling in the bathroom, she told her it was time for her to ask for help. Sure, she was beaten by Crazy Eyes herself, but that’s a whole other story. To encourage Maureen to go to the clinic, she said, “Sometimes you need help and it’s okay to ask.”

We couldn’t agree more.

4 She accepts herself.

Suzanne Warren is not afraid to be herself. In fact, throughout the seasons, she’s learned to be more confident and proud to be different. “I am not crazy. I am unique,” a powerful saying by Suzanne.

Also, in the current season, there was an incident where some of the inmates painted her face white to resemble a clown. As Suzanne was taking off the makeup, she was reminding herself how beautiful she is and to love the skin God gave her.

We all need to tell ourselves this and we’re glad Suzanne can remind us to do that. Don’t ever leave the “Orange is the New Black” cast, Suzanne! We’ll miss you too much.
