PHOTO VIA INSTAGRAM/@REALWIVESSydney Brooke Simpson has done pretty well to stay out of her father, O.J. Simpson’s, spotlight, but Ryan Murphy’s FX drama has everyone wondering what happened to the Simpson children.
For those of you who have watched the award-winning crime series “The People v. O.J. Simpson: An American Crime Story,” then you already know that O.J Simpson and Nicole Brown’s children, Sydney and Justin, were asleep when she was murdered.
But this happened over 20 years ago. Where is everyone, especially Justin and Sydney Brooke Simpson, now?
As a sort of refresher, Orenthal James “O.J.” Simpson was a former football running back, broadcaster and actor. His life, however, took a turn for the worse after the murders of his then-wife Nicole Brown and friend Ron Goldman.
O.J. Simpson’s trial for these murders went on for eight months and ended with his acquittal.
Simpson, however, is currently serving a 33-year sentence for his involvement in a Las Vegas robbery. For that crime, he was charged with conspiracy, burglary and assault with a deadly weapon.
Simpson went to jail in 2008 and according to LA Times, he’ll be eligible for parole in the second half of 2017.
Through all this, however, Sydney Brooke Simpson and her brother have done their best to remain private and to push forward.
Sydney is currently 31 years old and she graduated from Boston University in 2010. She received her BA in Sociology from the university’s College of Arts and Sciences.
After college, Sydney lived in Atlanta but she recently moved to St. Petersburg, Florida. There she opened her own business, Simspy LLC, in 2014. She also currently owns three properties in the area.
Justin was only two months shy of his sixth birthday when the tragedy happened. But now, he’s a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker Homes in the same town as his sister.
“They are so grounded,” Tanya Brown, Nicole’s younger sister, told People. “I am so proud of what and who they become.”
Neither Sydney nor Justine have spoken publicly about the past or even “American Crime Story.” Nobody except for their close family and friends are sure about what their plans are for the future. Regardless, they seem to be doing well.
And though the FX crime series sparked a renewed interest in both her and Justin’s personal lives, hopefully the media will respect their privacy.
In the long run, they’ll probably just keep doing what they’ve been doing the last 20 or so years: moving forward.
