Perhaps you know Persia White as Bonnie’s mother in “The Vampire Diaries,” or from her character Lynne Searcy on the hit sitcom “Girlfriends.” However, acting only occupies a small portion of this busy woman’s time.
Here are five little-known facts about this vocationally diverse actress.
In 2005, Persia was named the PETA Humanitarian of the Year. In addition to being an animal activist, she is on the board of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.
Persia White met her current husband Joseph Morgan on-set of “The Vampire Diaries” in 2011, while both of them were part of the cast. The two were married three years later. Persia’s daughter, Mecca White, starred in a short film directed by her stepfather.

Persia’s first debut album “Mecca,” which features alternative and trip-hop genres, was named after her daughter. It was released in October of 2009.
Persia’s mother, whose pseudonym is B.B. White, has recently released her first work of fiction on Amazon. The Kindle version is currently listed as $3.00. This is yet another touching example of family supporting family in the White household, whatever the creative endeavor may be.
