Los Angeles, California

When it comes to high-tech sector jobs, LA is the place to be. According to a 2014 report by LA County Economic Development County, LA has more of these jobs than Silicon Valley!

“This tech workforce is about 368,000 jobs, generating $32 billion in wages last year. Officials say these workers also mean more jobs in other industries. The total economic impact is about $58 billion. The mayor says the priority is to keep this growing and to make L.A. attractive to tech companies.”

Seoul, South Korea

Earning a name as a city of the future, Smithsonian Magazine credits Seoul for its transformation from an impoverished city decimated by the Korean War to one of the most prosperous and high-tech places in the world.

Seoul’s residents access to the latest technology is like no other.

“[As] some of the earliest adopters of new technology in the world, especially cell phones and mobile computing devices, and their immediate access to the most up-to-date information means that the city’s hottest neighborhoods and sleepiest sections can change overnight.”

New York, New York.

As a place that earned the name as The City That Never Sleeps, there’s no surprise that it’s landed itself as one of the leading cities in technology.

New York City provides a vast amount of jobs in the technology field. A 2015 report from the New York State Comptroller showed that almost 7,000 high tech companies the city provided over 100,000 jobs in 2013.

The average salary for workers in the high-tech field in 2012? $118,600.

London, England

In 2014 BBC announced Boris Johnson, along with former New York mayor Michael Bloomberg and the venture capitalist Sir Michael Moritz launched London Technology Week in order to boost the rep of the technology cluster capital.

According to a report by Oxford Economics there are a whopping 34,000 tech business in London. They also predicted in the next decade there will be another 11,000. Holy tech!

San Francisco, California

Surprise, surprise, it’s Silicon Valley. The gold rush, the goldmine, the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow when it comes to all things tech. Google, Apple Inc, Adobe Systems, eBay, HP, Netflix, Facebook, Oracle. … need we say more?
