When Brad Falchuk, co-creator of “Scream Queens,” asked Skyler Samuels to stay on the show, she was finishing up her winter quarter at Stanford University. But he told her to take a chance on “Scream Queens,” so she did.

“It would have been hard to accept that offer from any other people,” she told The Hollywood Reporter. “I am so thankful for having them believe in me that I was easily able to believe in them. [So] I put down Stanford for a second and jumped head first into the Kappa Kappa Tau world on “Scream Queens.”

3 On set, Skyler says Jamie Lee Curtis was her mentor.

After the first season of “Scream Queens,” Skyler admitted that Jamie Lee Curtis changed her life. “I grew up adoring her,” she told The Hollywood Reporter. “My first day of work with her, she was so kind, warm, inspiring and lovely. I’m friends with my idol and now she’s my mentor.”

According to the 23-year-old actress, Curtis often gave her acting tips and advice about being a woman in the business.

4 After the first season, she temporarily left “Scream Queens” to go back to school.

Immediately after filming the first season, Skyler returned to Stanford to complete her degree in marketing and intellectual property. She graduated in June 2016 and for her, it was very important to finish school because of her parents influence. “My parents were always adamant about me being a student-actor, not actor-student,” she told The Hollywood Reporter.

On top of that, Skyler also calls herself a workaholic. “One job isn’t enough,” she added.

5 And to prove that one job isn’t enough? She’s also launched a successful fashion app.

Aside from being a hardworking actress, she’s also a budding entrepreneur. In 2016, Samuels launched Ask Tipster, a fashion and beauty app that pairs users with professional stylists and makeup artists. According to her, this has been an ongoing passion project.

“We live in this DIY age of YouTube tutorials and trying things out that we see online,” she told Yahoo! in an interview. “What if we can just ask someone in real time and have a conversation with people who can help us achieve the look that we love?”
