Celebrating her 75th birthday this year but still looking fresh and fabulous thanks to drinking from the fountain of eternal youth on her island home, Wonder Woman is the ultimate feminist icon. This badass beauty continues to save the world while showing off strength, style and smarts.

NAME:  Princess Diana of Themyscira in her homeland. She uses the alias Diana Prince everywhere else. Her secret identity is Wonder Woman.

LIFETIME: December 1941 to present. She made her debut in All Star Comics #8, which was published days before the U.S. entered World War II. In the 1970s, she got her own TV series starring Lynda Carter. This year, the iconic woman finally made her movie debut in “Batman v Superman,” played by Gal Gadot who will return to the role in her own “Wonder Woman” film to be released in June 2017.

WHAT SHE IS KNOWN FOR:  She defeated countless villains with her supreme strategies, superhuman strength and fierce independence. She is also known to never carry a gun.

WHY WE LOVE HER:  Fashionable as well as patriotic, Wonder Woman wears a star-spangled outfit in tribute to her adopted country and accessorizes it with a golden lasso, regal tiara and bullet defecting bracelets. Originally she wore a flowing skirt then switched to a body suit in 1958. She got a makeover in 2000 when her new DC Comics look was redesigned to include a jacket and pants.

FUN FACTS: One of her early opponents was sexism. When she first joined a band of superheroes called the Justice Society, Wonder Woman wasn’t allowed to take part in the team’s battles and instead worked as their secretary. Twenty years later in the 1960s, when she briefly lost her powers, she opened a fashion boutique in Greenwich Village.
