Who knew?
When the clock struck twelve on the morning of January 1, 2017, a new era began as the Year of the Rooster officially clucked in.
But this year’s Chinese zodiac sign brought a lot more than just a rooster in with it. There’s also the 2017 lucky color of the year, fire, and countless 2017 predictions. Curious? Confused? We’ll get into this a little later on.
So, what does the Year of the Rooster mean for you? If you’re not super well-versed in the signs of the Chinese zodiac, brace yourself. This rooster tell-all is about to explain 2017 like never before.
First of all, roosters are demanding, opinionated and punctual. Have you ever been woken up by a rooster? That loud, glass-shattering, “Is someone being brutally murdered?” crow always sounds right at 5 a.m.
So if you’ve been feeling especially opinionated, demanding or punctual, the spirit of the rooster is with you. While we don’t ever like making assumptions about women, it’s more than likely that you’re pretty good about being demanding. We like getting what we want, when we want it. And not just in the bedroom (if you are shy there though, read this and especially pay attention to number four).
You also probably excel at being “fashionably late.” Aka an hour late to your girls’ nights or drinks after work. But it’s time to step up your punctuality in this year of the rooster.
Roosters are known for their aggressive actions and controversial choices. When you start to feel these rooster characteristics take over, stop and take a minute to breathe. Think before you act. Consider others before you choose (but always choose with your own self in mind).
We suggest staying organized. Keeping your days, feelings and thoughts in order will help you move smoothly through the highly charged 2017.
Have you been feeling the heat more than usual this year? Well, that’s probably because this year’s rooster is a fire rooster. On top of a zodiac sign, each year has an element associated with it. For 2017, that element is fire.
So what we’re dealing with is a fiery year of demands, opinions, conversations, feelings, choices and well, just life in general. And all of this heat is reflected in the fire rooster’s vibrantly colorful personality. Which brings us to the 2017 lucky color of the year.
For all of you color-lovers out there, the year of the rooster comes along with the 2017 lucky color of the year. The colors this year are yellow, orange, red, purple, magenta and pink. All of which emulate the colors of burning flames or rooster feathers.

We make strong choices based on who we are and what we stand for as women. Even in this fire-filled year of the rooster, we keep cool by exercising our minds, choosing to go with our gut-feelings, and always standing by the women in our lives.
