Pepsi can breathe a sigh of relief. United Airlines is now the target of internet fury after the release of a brutal video from Chicago Flight 3411 to Louisville, Kentucky. And trust me, it’s warranted.

A video posted by passenger Audra D. Bridges to Facebook shows an older, Asian man being violently ripped from his seat and literally drug by his hands off of the plane.

The horrifying clip concludes with a look at the man’s bloodied face as he is pulled off of the plane. So how did we get here? Oh, that’s easy. United overbooked.

Reportedly, Sunday’s full flight became an issue for the airline, after they realized they wanted four of their employees onboard for a future departure. They opened it up to volunteers, initially offering $400 and a hotel stay for the seats.

Of course, this all occurred after everyone was ALREADY SEATED ON THE PLANE. Color me surprised that at this point no one wanted to unbuckle their seat belts, remove their items from the overhead bin and start the horrible process all over again.

This is obviously just atrocious planning on United’s part, but they are a business in Trump’s America so I guess they think they can do whatever they want. And that they did. Their computer reportedly “randomly” selected a doctor to leave the flight, but as he had patients to see in the morning at the hospital, he declined.

The man stayed on the plane to call his lawyer, and as you can see in the video that’ll likely scar you for life, the rest is history. Upon viewing the heinous clip, people took to Twitter to vent their fury, because, you know, they have souls.

United was trending as many tweeted with hashtag “#dontflyUnited.” What with price gouging, minuscule legroom and a severe lack of dependability of late, airlines already have a bad rap. But assaulting paying customers? That’s a new low.

And Twitter wasn’t about to stand for it. User @STFUParents posted, “We live in a time when large airlines like @united are given carte blanche to physically assault paying customers. F—king insane.”

Vigilante account @USAnonymous wrote, “So @united is basically saying; ‘We asked for volunteers and no one said yes, so we called the cops.’” And like any self-important bully, United just couldn’t shut up, despite being in the wrong. “Flight 3411 from Chicago to Louisville was overbooked. After our team looked for volunteers, one customer refused to leave ^MD,” they responded, in a deluded attempt to defend themselves.

Ohh, he refused to leave… from the flight that he paid for… and had been allowed to board. That makes sense. Now it’s totally copacetic that you bloodied a paying customer.

After a two-hour delay to “tidy up” the plane, it finally left Chicago… with the assaulted doctor. So it seems forcibly removing that man wasn’t necessary after all. But we already knew that. The airline has since begun trying to shift the blame to the cops involved, posting “further details on the removed customer should be directed to authorities.”

Right. The authorities that you called… after overbooking a flight. We certainly hope this man is okay. And as for United, we’re waiting for an apology for that traumatizing act of assault. Whenever you’re ready…
