Ava, The Eternal Optimist (ENFP)

Extroverted, Intuition, Feeling, Perceiving

Overview

Avas truly live up to their moniker as "The Eternal Optimist". They are enthusiastic about life, caring, warm and tend to be curious about the people around them and want to have a deeper understanding of the world at large. Intense Avas are waves of positive emotion that set sail to seek out authentic people and experiences -- realest of the real apply only!

Avas are totally bored by the mundane and monotonous. Don’t expect Avas to sit around idly or be content with simple tasks. And never make them stick to a schedule, because they hate being tied down by time.

Amazing Avas love diverse groups of people from all walks of life, not dissimilar to her sister personality, Artemis The Mesmerizing Muse (ENFJ). She wants to explore every avenue in search of truth and possibility.

Happiness is the ultimate goal of an Ava, who seeks it for herself and those around her. Avas follow their heart and soul to live freely with the pursuit of all things good in mind. Altruistic Ava wants to give the best they can and help people reach their potential with contentment as the end result!

Strengths

Truly an extrovert, Ava is the type of person who will always ask you how you’re doing because she actually cares. Not only that, an Ava has the ability to deeply understand others’ emotions; "empathy" is practically her middle name.

Avas want to share their hopes and goals with others, knowing that by sharing a little of sparkle, it will invite others to think on their own. Ever the imaginative one, Avas have avid fantasy lives that allow them to push beyond current frontiers. Having such a wild fantasy life, Avas are very accepting of others’ passions -- big, small, weird or common! Hey, you collect Beanie Babies in 2017? That’s amazing! Do you want to climb Mt. Everest? Equally cool, and totally achievable according to an Ava. They love to explore every nook and cranny of possibility. They’re the never say never personality that will surely make you feel good to be in the company of an Ava.

Common Strengths: Energetic, Enthusiastic, Empathetic, Well Liked, Friendly, Outgoing, Curious, Chill, Communication Gurus

Weaknesses

Avas may come off as out of touch or dissociative since they are perpetual daydreamers and have an unconventional look at life. This is a great quality, but sometimes it’s important to come back to Earth to be able to take in some of the nitty-gritty realities of daily life. Details and time limits have little importance to an Ava, which can land her in hot water (Yes, Ava you have bills to pay and laundry to do!). However, practicing meditation or grounding exercises can help. Avas shouldn’t be afraid to indulge in the conventional if only to get a deeper understanding of the world around them.

That said, Ava's can easily get bored with the world around them, especially if assignments or chores are at hand -- they are true novelty seekers. This can be great for adventure, but less so for getting things done. In fact, the hardest obstacle ENFPs face is learning to do the mundane, life stuff that just happens to be boring.

Common Weaknesses:  Overthinkers, Trouble Focusing, Extremely Emotional, Impractical, Easily Stressed, Despise Negativity, Hates Routine

Romantic Relationships

In romantic relationships, Avas are warm-hearted, engaging and brilliantly thrive with the positive energy of another. An Ava’s main concern with romance is openness, and she thrives on having all the feels and sharing all the feels. If you’re looking for emotional souls with charm and optimism, an Ava’s your woman!

Since Ava is The Eternal Optimist she often pulls away when there is conflict, not wanting it to pop her happy bubble. She must realize that it’s okay to have bumps in the road and that coming face to face with conflict doesn’t mean the end of her dreams for the relationship. Avas make up for their lack of organization with their ability to emotionally support their partners in need.  A partner for Ava needs to be unique, unconventional and possess a love for sharing deeply.

Friendships

Avas are wonderfully loyal and devoted friends. They love to create new experiences for growth with their loved ones and friends. However, conflict-averse Ava isn’t great at setting boundaries. She needs to learn how to cement concrete boundaries that say, “Hey, you can’t ALWAYS steal my fries. Next time let’s get two instead!” Avas greatly value their role as loyal confidants and many people claim Avas as their BFF for their strong emotional bonds with her. Avas love nothing more than creating new cherishable memories with friends that they can laugh about forever (even that one time in Vegas!).

Career Path & Workplace Habits

Avas enjoy creative work that also benefits others on the team or consumers or clients from the projects she chooses. Avas are dreamy visionaries with the idea for a pop-up candy shop or hot chocolate lounge. Leave it to Ava to come up with something chic yet warm and thoughtful. If you need extra pixie dust of imagination, Avas are the #1 personality for fulfilling that wish on a project. Avas prefer the ability to work at their own pace and dislike hard deadlines. Despite this, Avas have to adapt to different situations and expectations to fully thrive in their career or they can be stunted. Overall, Avas are exciting, fun members of any office and are probably the first ones to invite you to sit with them at lunch.
