You’ve been binge-watching it for weeks, absently clicking “next episode” as you drool over stars like Evan Peters and Alexandra Breckenridge and cringe at the latest bloody scene – until you realize you’ve watched the last episode of American Horror Story, season five. As if you thought the last seasons weren’t dark enough, AHS will reportedly be even “more rogue and more dark.” Also, be prepared for some time whiplash – according to FX President John Landgraf, season six will feature plenty of flashbacks.
Several people, including cinematographer Michael Goi and AHS creator Ryan Murphy, have implied that children will play an important role in season six. As a result, many have suggested that the next season of AHS will be set in a camp or school.
At a recent Paleyfest panel, Murphy revealed that he’s been toying with two possible ideas for next season’s themes, which has never happened before. Both ideas, though, involve children.
Although Jessica Lange has confirmed that she won’t be returning to AHS in season six, plenty of other stars are coming back for more. Angela Bassett, who appeared in three seasons of AHS, will return and hinted that her character will “imbibe too much” but have a killer sense of intuition. And, for all you music lovers, Lady Gaga confirmed that she’d also be back for season six. Other rumored returnees include Sarah Paulson, Emma Roberts and Evan Peters.
Besides starring in season 6, Bassett will also be the first female to direct an episode of American Horror Story. Talk about being one of the #womenthatdo many things!
While it may hurt now, just know that AHS will be back soon. American Horror Story will most likely premier in early October, as has every season before.
