Spongebob Will Always Be Entertaining

What was your favorite TV show as a child? Arthur? Sesame Street? What about good, old’ SpongeBob Squarepants?

You may be thinking that you’re a wee bit too old for SpongeBob, but we disagree. Sometimes you need to take a break from laundry, paying bills and buying groceries, kick back with a classic throwback from your childhood! Still not convinced? Here are six reasons why you should trade the morning news with some episodes about your favorite sponge living in a pineapple under the sea!

  1. The jokes are still funny.

Who doesn’t love the SpongeBob episode featuring Dirty Dan and Pinhead? When you free that inner kid inside, there’s no way you can’t enjoy some laughs with SpongeBob!

  1. You may be surprised at how much adult humor there is.

If you’ve never watched a childhood favorite and been shocked at the amount of adult humor you missed, here is your chance! SpongeBob doesn’t get enough credit for the subtle humor that only adults can understand. If you re-watch the same episodes you saw after school during your elementary years, you’ll discover some new nuanced jokes that will blow you (and your funny bone) away.

  1. The ridiculous situations.

One minute, SpongeBob and Patrick are on the Flying Dutchman’s vessel. The next, they’re montage-running through a perfume department in real life – in slow motion of course. Whatever critics may think of SpongeBob, no other show is as creative.

  1. Nostalgia.

What are your favorite memories from childhood? Snacks after school? Nap time? Recess? When you watch SpongeBob, it’s impossible not to feel like a little kid again. The show transports you back to those fun, carefree days that you don’t get enough of as an adult.

  1. It’s an easy-going, fun cartoon.

When your life feels like its overflowing with drama – Pretty Little Liars style or at work – SpongeBob is a drama-free zone you can visit with the click of a remote. You can watch SpongeBob in any mood or state of mind, and you’re always in for a laugh.

  1. The lessons are still important.

Kid show or not, some people could learn a thing or two by watching SpongeBob. You may not realize it, but while you’re laughing, you’re also learning how to treat others with kindness and assert yourself when you’re being mistreated. You might even want to act like a sponge and soak up the fun, humor and life lessons from our favorite sea character, SpongeBob!
