ENTITY reports on type a personality

There are two types of people in the world: Type A and Type B personalities.

Type As are typically characterized as competitive, self-critical and diligent. But they also get a bad rap because they’re often hostile.

Type B personalities, on the other hand, are more relaxed, reflective and creative. But, they’re also more likely to see the worst in others – since they think so much – and are more prone to showing anger and envy.

While most people think they’d rather be a Type B personality, they probably secretly want to be Type As. Why wouldn’t they? Type As Get. Shit. Done.

So how do you know if you’re a Type A personality? Here are five traits most of these personalities have.

1 You feel guilty when you take the time to relax.

Type As are naturally impatient, goal driven and motivated, so relaxing can feel like a waste of time when you can be doing something productive. Type A personalities enjoy spending their time wisely.

Taking a break feels like a sin, basically. They can sleep when they’re dead, right?

2 You’re constantly trying to beat the clock.

When you’re as motivated as a Type A personality, life can feel like a competition against time. You might have an urge to finish projects as fast as you possibly can.

“The term we use is ‘time urgency,'” John Schaubroeck, professor of psychology and management at Michigan State University, told The Huffington Post. “There’s never enough time to do what you want to do.”

But because of this, they tend to over-schedule themselves and spread themselves too thin. Which can sometimes lead to burning out so… be wary.

3 You’re prone to anxiety and stress.

Since Type As are always on the mood, their behavior makes them more prone to high blood pressure, stress and anxiety. At this point, it’s important to take a breather every now and then. Look at the clouds, take a walk or maybe even talk to a Type B personality. They might be able to teach you a thing or two.

4 You have to be doing multiple things at once.

Whether it’s eating while reading or cleaning while studying, you doing one task at a time is inefficient. Yeah, they’ve heard all the arguments about how people don’t actually multitask, but they don’t care.

Type A personalities are impatient with delays and unproductive time, so they feel the need to make the best use of their time by doing multiple things at once.

5 You have trouble sleeping at night.

Type A personalities spend a lot of time worrying about the next thing they have to do. So, it can be difficult to get a good night’s rest when they’re up all night stressing about their to-do lists the next day.

If you find yourself relating to these traits, then you’re probably a Type A personality. Most people say the Type A personality is the more superior personality since they’re harder working and more goal-oriented. But honestly, that is the most Type A thing to say.
