Former Playboy playmate Dani Mathers made headlines earlier this year for a body-shaming case.

Mathers had posted a Snapchat story of a naked woman in the gym and captioned it: “If I can’t unsee this then you can’t either.” Then after being criticized for that, Mathers shared a widely mocked apology video, where she claimed that taking and sharing the photo on her Snapchat story had been an accident.

She said that because she was new to Snapchat, she didn’t realize that her Snapchat posted to her story when it was just meant as a private message to her friend. Then she added, “I have chosen to do what I do for a living because I love the female body and I know that body shaming is wrong and that’s not what I’m about.”

But as Mathers’ reputation continues to suffer from her bullying incident, some people may be wondering who she was before all this.

1 Dani Mathers began her relationship with Playboy in 2013.

That year, she won the Cyber Girl of the Month title, which was then followed by the Playmate of the Month title in May 2014.

Then in 2015, she became the 2015 Playmate of the Year. “With a personality to match the looks, becoming PMOY 2015 is only the beginning for the ambition model,” Playboy wrote.

2 But before Playboy, she picked up some gigs in Hollywood.

Mathers has appeared on Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne’s film “Neighbors” and has also been on “Let’s Be Cops” as a Baywatch Lifeguard.

On the small screen, she has a recurring role as Danica from “The Bold and the Beautiful.” She’s also been on “Franklin and Bash” and “Cleaners.”

“I’m from a big Jewish-Italian family. I was brought up playing in the mud, cheerleading, and playing volleyball, and I can’t seem to keep my mouth shut,” Mathers told Playboy in an interview.

According to her Cyber Girl of the Month video, Mathers is from Malibu, California. However, she went to High School in Oak Park and then went to college in Northridge at California State University, Northridge.

When she was attending CSU Northridge, she studied Voice and Movement. And according to her IMDb resume, she can play the guitar, she sings and she dances various styles, including ballroom, freestyle and hip hop.

On top of all that, Mathers also has some background experience in theater. She played Juliet for Stage Door Theatre’s showing of “Romeo and Juliet.”
