ENTITY reveals poisonous foods for dogs you may not even know about.

Your dog is your best friend. Or maybe even your child. Whatever you considered your pup to be to you, you want to make sure they stay healthy and away from anything that puts their well being at harm. Even though those puppy eyes staring at you seem irresistible, slipping your dog a piece of the chocolate bar or other poisonous foods for dogs is not the best decision.

In fact, there are numerous foods that can be harmful to their health and potentially poison them. Here are a list of 5 foods to keep away from your furry friend.

1 ALCOHOL

Just as alcohol is harmful to human’s, so is it to dogs. Alcohol will have a detrimental effect on both a dog’s brain and body. Smaller dogs would suffer much more than larger dogs.

2 MACADAMIA NUTS

According to ASPCA, “Macadamia nuts can cause weakness, depression, vomiting, tremors and hyperthermia in dogs.”

3 CAFFEINE

This can be in any form: coffee, tea, etc. According to WebMD, there is no cure for the problems large intakes of caffeine will cause your dog. Some symptoms to look out for when concerned about caffeine poisoning are restlessness, tremors, heart palpitations, and heavy breathing.

4 CHOCOLATE

According to WebMD, “Chocolate products contain substances called methylxanthines that can cause vomiting in small doses, and death if ingested in larger quantities.” The darker the chocolate, the more poisonous it is to your pup. Some warning signs can be seizures, tremors, diarrhea, and excessive thirst.

5 AVOCADO

Don’t let your chips and guac slip into the paws of your dog. Avocado contains a toxin, persin, that is dangerous to animals if ingested in large quantities.

If your dog does happen to come in contact with one of these foods, be sure to monitor their behavior, and if anything seems abnormal, seek professional help immediately.
