Entity explores five unconventional meats you should try grilling this summer.

When you hear the word “grill,” which foods appear in your mind? Maybe burgers or hot dogs, like you always see on the Fourth of July? What about chicken or ribs for some country-style grub? This summer, don’t settle for the same old meats on the grill. Instead, take Taylor Swift’s lead and shake those off…and shake up your cuisine!

The truth is, there are plenty of juicier, more tender, and even more favorable kinds of meats available at your local grocery store. You just need to know where to look. Here are five meats to grill that will diversify your menu, surprise BBQ guests and keep them asking for more!

1 QUAIL

Sick of chicken? Try throwing some quail on the grill! They’re small enough to be the perfect size for one person and, as long as they aren’t overcooked (think 10 minutes or less), you’ll end up with a tender, juicy dinner!

2 CLAMS

Never thought of grilling clams, did you? Throwing these on the barbecue can give them a nice, smoky flavor, which is perfect for summer.

3 RABBIT

Bring a 5-star restaurant delicacy to your kitchen table by grilling up some rabbit. Although cooking up Bugs Bunny may sound intimidating, it’s so juicy and easy to cook that you’ll want to grill rabbit all year!

4 BISON

Love burgers but want to switch it up from beef or turkey? Bison is a great alternative to both of those meats and it’s easy to find in stores.

5 GOOSE

Maybe the closest you’ve gotten to this protein is playing “Duck, duck, goose” in elementary school. However, goose isn’t just a bird that you can enjoy in some elegant café. Instead, it can upgrade your typical chicken summer grilling.

Can you see the grill going off already? It’s time for some unconventional barbecue!
