Entity discusses if actor Jesse Eisenberg is a jerk in real life.

From Lex Luthor in Batman v Superman to Mark Zuckerberg in the Social Network to Mike Howell in American Ultra, Jesse Eisenberg has played some of the Silver Screen’s most notorious characters that we love to hate. Now there are some people who can play some of the most vicious, blood chilling characters, but still be some of the sweetest, easy going people we’ve seen— Jack Gleeson and Amy Acker come to mind. But some choose to embody these characters, or maybe a more accurate statement is that they choose characters who they see as more of a reflection of their selves. Speaking of, @Jared Leto—you don’t have to be a harassing creep to your costars to be the Joker. We have proof and his name is Mark Hamill. There’s method acting, and then there’s just being a jerk. But where does Jesse Eisenberg land? Awkward method actor, or just a plain old jerk in need of a reality check?

A certain amount of awkwardness should be expected from Eisenberg—awkwardness, not straight out meanness. Suffering from OCD, insomnia, and anxiety ever since he was a child, Eisenberg is understandably not Ryan Gosling smooth. While understandable that these traits would make it unenjoyable for him to attend Comic Con. What isn’t is saying that he thinks this is what “genocide” must have felt like. And then there’s the 2013 online interview. You probably know the one I’m talking about, if you google “jesse eisenberg” and “interview” together it’s one of the first results that pop up. Eisenberg completely eviscerates his interviewer, not stopping even when she flat out says he’s going to make her cry.

There’s a difference between not being able to pick up social cues very well, and flat out ignoring what another person is about to say to you. It’s one thing to hear about from his peers and those who are paying him about what a great guy he is. It’s another to see him treat someone that he is in a position of power over like garbage.
