Elizabeth Warren silenced? Pshh- ENTITY reports why she is a bada$$.

Disclaimer: I’m a proud Masshole. And in true Masshole fashion I worship at the feet of the coolest senator in the world, Elizabeth Warren (She’s way cooler than our Governor Charlie Baker, who my professors tell me is an a$$hole). Warren not only took down Wall Street (like the boss she is) and crushed Scott Brown (and his truck) during her run for senator, she’s the Queen of Twitter shutdowns.

Here’s why I think Elizabeth Warren is a bada$$ bitch.

  • She wrote a bill that would have prevented the doubling of student loan interest rates

Six months after she took office, Warren proposed a bill called Bank on Student Loans Fairness Act that was aimed at preventing the doubling of student loan interest rates, according to the Huffington Post. The bill died in Congress, but Warren has continued to propose a Bank on Students Emergency Loan Refinancing Act, which would allow students to safely refinance loans. She’s also written to the Department of Educationabout their lack of interest in aiding student loan borrowers. And she developed a plan to make college more affordable. Elizabeth Warren knows a happy, free population is also a well-educated one.

  • She’s completely self-made

Elizabeth Warren is the poster child for the American Dream, a dream she feels isn’t achievable under our current economy. She grew up in a middle class family, got a degree, had a family, went to law school, and then became a leading expert in her field, according to her website.

  • Her work as a Harvard professor helped establish the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau

Warren was a big advocate for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, created in 2010, according to Vanity Fair.  The Bureau is designed to protect consumer rights in the financial sector.  Warren was also named an assistant to the Bureau’s president and a special adviser to the secretary. The only reason she wasn’t named the Bureau’s director was because financial institutions and conservatives were worried she’d be too hard on corporations.

  • She’s the first female senator from Massachusetts

It’s hard to believe from the birth place of Susan B. Anthony, Emily Dickinson, Lucy Stone, Amy Poehler, and other awesome ladies, but it took us until 2012 to elect a female senator. Thank God we did, because Elizabeth Warren was one of the best people to represent Massachusetts women.

  • She serves on three special committees and does a ton of supplemental work

Warren’s sponsored 37 bills while only being in office for less than three years. She also serves on the Senate Special Committee on Aging; the Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee; and the Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee. She also only missed 12 voting sessions throughout her entire tenure which is less than average, according to Govtrack.org. Oh, and she spends a lot of time writing letters to different department that she believes aren’t doing their jobs. Which leads to our next point…

  • She’s not afraid to speak her mind

Whether she’s calling out Trump or writing letters, Warren knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to stand up for what she believes in. She’s received a lot of flack from Sanders’ supporters for endorsing Clinton even though her consumer advocacy more clearly matches Sanders platform. But she waited to endorse Clinton after Clinton won the popular vote—which speaks to her morals and dedication to the people. She endorsed Clinton despite the popularity she must of known she lost, because Clinton represented what the majority of democratic citizens wanted.
