ENTITY explains why you need a new hobby.

Collecting rocks, putting together puzzles, weaving together those oh-so-fashionable keychains, we had a ton of hobbies when we were younger, what happened to them? They were our source of if happiness and entertainment, why did we forget about them?

With those stressful school and work days, running errands, picking up kids from school, we need those hobbies now more than ever.

So before you shake your head and say “there’s not enough time in the day” let me provide you with a few reasons why creating time for them makes sense:

It Relieves stress.

In today’s world it seems like we practically live at work. Some of us even take it home with us. Then, let’s add on the daily tasks we still have to perform, there’s no way you’re not stressed out. Having a hobby can relieve it all, it allows time to take your mind off of it all and have a second to breathe.

Your own personal source of relaxation.

While going out with friends or laying on the couch and binge watching your favorite show on Netflix is a way to escape, it’s good to have alternatives. Find something from within that truly fascinates you and you would like to spend time doing or learning about. “The more you know the more you grow”.

It helps with those blocks.

Maybe your trying to finish that 15 page research paper and your stuck on page 10, or you can’t get going on that project for work, a hobby is perfect for this! Take a break and get those creative juices flowing. Some of the best inspiration comes when you’re occupied with something else.

Trying something new taps into a reservoir of creativity.

You might find a creative side you never knew existed. Perhaps you were always fond of photography but never got around to trying it because it wasn’t part of your daily schedule. Take some time out of your day to explore it, even if it’s just 15 minutes. Who knows, maybe you’ll become the next Annie Leibovitz.

Well we might think of hobbies to not be of importance in the adult world, they do have good benefits. The least we could all do is take a shot at a chance for some well-deserved relaxation.
