ENTITY explains how you can wear colored shoes.

Do you usually take the safe route and reach for your neutral colored shoes? It’s okay if you said yes, we all like to stay on the safe side, right? Wrong. It’s time to step out of your comfort zone and be a little daring. I know you have a pair of brightly colored heels you bought because they were so cute (and maybe on sale) but you just haven’t found a time to wear them. Well, I’m here to help.

Here are some tips on how you can break out those colorful shoes and combine them into your everyday attire:

1 Go monochrome.

This is a great way to don those red pumps hiding in the back of the closet with that red jumpsuit you just had to buy. Wear an outfit that is entirely one color and you won’t have to worry about whether or not your shoes match. How can navy blue not go well with navy blue?

2 Choose complementary colors.

If you are unsure what colors complement each other, take a look at a color wheel and point out which colors are right across from each other. Those are complementary and go well with one another.

3 Add a pop of color.

Wearing an all black outfit for a day roaming in the city? Why not pair it with a comfy pair of brightly colored sneakers? A splash of color will make a bold statement.

4 Emphasize that hint of color in your clothes.

If you have a hint of a color on the fit you’re wearing, wear that color shoe! If there’s a few purple and green flowers on your cream dress, pick a shade of shoe that matches either of those colors.
