ENTITY shares our favorite moments in anticipation of Jessica Jones season 2.

When “Jessica Jones” dropped you probably watched all thirteen episodes in thirteen hours straight (no shame here). Now you have nothing left to do but wait for season two. While you’re waiting for Jessica Jones season 2, get your fix by reliving some of the most badass moments on the show.

  • She may have superpowers, but she’s still a human with real human emotions. She’s not cut out for the life of a typical superhero and realizes her limitations.
  • David Tennant as Kilgrave (not Murdercorpse) … Enough said.
  • There are a few moments where you can attempt start to empathize with Kilgrave, but then he screws that up pretty quickly. The mark of a good villain is when you can empathize with their actions, if not understand them. You don’t have to agree with what he does, but you can understand where he is coming from. And those two small moments, especially when he sees his parents again, gives us that human quality he had been lacking before.
  • The side characters aren’t just sidekicks to Jessica and Kilgrave. Trish, Hogarth and even Malcolm are fully developed with character arcs of their own, and when we see that play out on the screen, we enjoy every second of it.
  • The depiction of romance and sex is real. There’s no longing glances from across a room or unnecessary pining. The chemistry between Jessica and Luke Cage is undeniable, but neither are trying to start something they aren’t actually ready for. It’s refreshing that their relationship or whatever you want to call it is not the focus of the show. Both characters have too much going on in their lives for romance to be at the forefront.
  • Trish’s character, played by Rachael Taylor, deserves special recognition. She’s an ungifted, but does everything she can to protect herself. Even after Jessica has left her, she is there when she needs her most. The two are sisters, and their relationship is what ultimately defeats Kilgrave.
  • Which brings us to the final point. Jessica and Trish’s safe phrase is something that Jessica would never say to anyone, and it’s important that she’s able to say it to Trish; her closest and oldest friend, her sister. Three words, eight letters, I love you. That’s all that Trish needs to know that Kilgrave has no power over Jessica.

From beginning to end “Jessica Jones” knows how to keep your attention. Do you need to re-watch the series before season two comes out?
