Entity reports on one woman’s conspiracy theory about Mike and Ike candy.

Spending more than $4 on candy at the movie theater already feels like kind of a rip-off, but now a California woman is claiming things are even worse than you thought.

She is suing the company that makes Mike and Ike chewy candies for deceiving customers by only filling up the boxes halfway.

She claims that she was tricked by her $4 box of Mike and Ike’s, which was about half slack-fill – aka, like 46 percent air.

The woman is calling it a conspiracy, as she found that Hot Tamales – also made by Just Born Quality Confections – were full of slack-fill, too.

The Food and Drug Administration defines slack-fill as the empty space in a package that is filled to less than its capacity for reasons other than protection of the contents, etc. And they consider it to be “misleading.”

The woman has condemned Mike and Ike’s use of slack-fill, insisting that even if the box of candy hadn’t been hidden behind the concession stand’s glass case, she still wouldn’t have been able to tell it was only half-full.

Of course, the company has denied any claims of deception, telling TMZ that the woman’s complaints were “baseless allegations.”

But this isn’t the first time moviegoers have complained about slack-fill. Another California woman is currently involved in a class-action suit against Nestlé for the same issue.

She complains that her Raisinets box was only 60 percent full, and seeks at least $5 million in damages. That’s a lot of Raisinets.

And there really does seem to be a conspiracy brewing, as Mondelez International is facing the same scrutiny. A New York man is suing over another movie theater favorite, their Sour Patch Watermelon candies, for having deceptive packaging as well.

In light of all of these lawsuits, it looks like you get more bang for your buck by sticking with a classic and just ordering popcorn at the movie theater. At least you can see what you’re getting!
