Entity updates you on the current lives of previous Real Housewives show.

There are those people who are famous and you’re not exactly sure why.  Most of them come from reality television. No group personifies this better than the Real Housewives.

Starting in 2006 with “The Real Housewives of Orange Country,” the Real Housewives phenomena exploded onto our television and our tabloids. A hurricane of hair extensions, fake nails, fake tans and six-inch heels all to pick up their kids from school, these women became known for throwing drinks and side-eyeing each other more than anything. Perhaps this is what made them so good for television.

As the phenomena continued, more shows were produced, more Housewives came onto the scene, and more drama ensued. The series has gone everywhere from New York to Dallas to Athens to Melbourne. But since its conception 10 years ago, the show’s popularity has waned and the fame of these women has as well.  Despite the countless clothing lines, restaurants, and hit singles, most of these women have failed to make it on to the Hollywood A-list.

The housewives who have managed to make it into the popular lexicon aren’t always for the best reason. On “The Real Housewives of New Jersey,” Teresa Giudice was known for throwing drinks and flipping tables. In her off-screen life, the drama followed her too. Giuduce and husband Joe Giudice, after filing for bankruptcy in 2007, were taken to court in 2013 with charges of conspiring to commit mail, wire and bank fraud.

In 2014, she was charged to 15 months in federal prison as a result of plea deal with federal prosecutors while her husband was sentenced to 41 months with a possible deportation to Italy. She was released on December 23, 2015. A book on her experiences titled “Turning the tables: From Housewife to Inmate and Back Again” was published in February. Her previous fame – combined with the extremity of her case – has now made her infamous.

The only housewife who seems to have managed to stay out of the limelight of infamy is Nene Leakes. Recently, she competed and won Spikes “Lip Sync Battle” and even had a role on “Glee “and the now canceled NBC sitcom “The New Normal.”

Even though the shows have continued to be aired on Bravo, most of these women now just followed for their pettiness. Most people it would seem view them just as women who are trying to feel glamorous. Their popularity seemed to be way more about their ability to produce drama and less about these women themselves.
