As a San Francisco native, I loved watching DJ, Stephanie and Michelle Tanner from “Full House” laughing and fighting as sisters do in the same city I call my home.
Funny enough, my best friend’s father growing up always reminded me of Danny Tanner, the tall lanky single Dad who cracks super corny jokes and obsessively cleans his already squeaky-clean house.
After falling in love with this picture-perfect television family, we sometimes forget that the characters themselves are just actors with real-life families of their own.
So ENTITY did some digging and find out more about Bob Saget’s off-screen life that he shared with wife, Sherri Kramer. Surprisingly, the family they have is very similar to the one we see on screen.
Who, exactly, is Sherri Kramer? Here are four facts you probably didn’t know about Bob Saget’s wife in the ’90s.
In 2014, Saget released a book titled “Dirty Daddy: The Chronicles of a Family Man Turned Filthy Comedian.” In it, he claims that he began dating Sherri Kramer at age seventeen and they ended up marrying each other in 1982.
She seems to have been one of Saget’s main supporters as he transitioned from Hollywood comedian to an actor when ‘Full House’ began airing in 1987. The couple remained together for 15 years, then divorced in 1997, two years after the show ended.
This was around the same time Bob Saget began hosting “America’s Funniest Home Videos.” This gig probably came at the ideal time in Saget’s life, since it’s good to have an outlet for laughter when coping with the stress and sting of divorce.
Sherri Kramer attended Law School at the University of Pennsylvania and was admitted to the bar of California in 1981. However, her status as a lawyer has remained inactive since 2003, according to calbar.ca.gov.
After Google searching “Sherri Kramer Saget,” her name pops up on IMDb, where she’s credited for helping write “Bob Saget: In the Dream State,” a 1990 television movie. This is the only project listed under her name.
Bob Saget and his wife Sherri Kramer Saget had three children together, twins Aubrey and Lara Melanie and the youngest daughter, Jennifer Belle. The couple shares three girls together, just like Danny’s darling on-screen daughters D.J, Stephanie and Michelle.
Although not very much is out there on Bob Saget’s ex-wife, we imagine Sherri Kramer must’ve run quite a busy household raising three kids of her own.
