Entity suggests things to do in summer that you have been putting off all year.

Remember those New Year’s Resolutions that you made back in January?

We know you were just about to get to those… but now that it’s summer, it is actually the perfect time to do those all of those things that have been in the back of your mind for the last six months.

1 You can read that book you’ve had sitting next to your bed since you got it for Christmas.

Every holiday season, a stream of books come in as presents. And on top of that, every holiday movie shows someone curled up next to the fireplace with a book and a hot chocolate. Sounds appealing, right?

However, those books are usually more like your favorite Netflix show, and the fireplace is usually your bed… where you’ve been cooped up for three days straight.

But now that the sun is shining (and inconveniently reflecting off of your computer screen), it is time to grab that book off of your bedside table.

You know, the one you’ve been using as a coaster. Head to the beach, pool or backyard to soak up some rays, so you can finally say you spent the day being productive.

2 You can actually start practicing mindfulness.

Nearly every article about improving productivity, quality of life or overall happiness mentions how helpful it is to improve your mindfulness through meditation. With the technology and resources available today, increasing mindfulness has never been easier.

Using apps like Headspace and Smiling Mind or even attending those free first yoga classes make it easy to incorporate mindfulness into your schedule.

3 You can finally move your workout outside.

You’ve been planning to renew that gym membership or try that new Zumba class – to see if there was a type of workout that could possibly be fun – since you “indulged” yourself last winter.

If you’re spending all day in an office, who wants to spend more time in a gym, especially when you could be in bed? But now that it’s summer and it’s light out from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and no longer below 60 degrees, there is plenty of daylight and warmth to move your workout outside.

4 You can end that relationship that isn’t going anywhere.

It’s no longer cuffing season and you no longer need a mate to make those hours of Netflix seem less lonely. It’s summer and if that relationship isn’t bringing serious value to your life, there isn’t a better time to “de-cuff.”

Just imagine how many potential suitors you could run into laying at the pool or by the grill at that summer barbecue coming up.

5 You can clean out your closet.

Speaking of getting rid of things you don’t need, it’s probably time to say goodbye to that fur vest you haven’t worn in three years.

Sure, you refused to say goodbye to it because, “What if I need it?” But now that it’s hot out, you have the new perspective to be able to grab those bulky winter coats and drive them straight to Goodwill.

6 You can try those healthy recipes you ripped out of those magazines.

Now that all of those colorful fruits and vegetables are in season again, it couldn’t be a better time to rummage through the healthy recipes you tore from magazines or screenshot from Instagram.

There is something about hot weather and eating outside that makes it less appealing to chow down on that steaming Chinese food for the fourth night in a row. And it may even make you consider roasting a vegetable or slicing a watermelon.

So find those recipes you fully intended on making at one point and finally put your kitchen to good use.

7 You can finally get that haircut that is a little shorter than you’ve dared to go.

Every time you go to the hairdresser, does it flit across your mind that you might just want to chop your hair a little shorter than your typical one-inch trim?

Well, this summer season is the perfect time to chop it all off. Styles change with every season. And with the sizzling weather and radiating sunshine, cutting your long locks is an easy fix to stay cool and fully embrace your new summer lifestyle.

You’re running out of months to procrastinate, so perhaps this can inspire you to finally tackle that long-ignored to-do list. What are you waiting for?
