Need some new timeless tracks to jam out to? Let’s be real, that album you’ve been listening to since forever ago may be a classic, but if you may be missing out on your new favorite artist! Tons of new music has been released just this year, and there’s some really good albums out that you definitely don’t want to skip out on.

This month, shake up your routine playlists with these albums that are sure to please, no matter what genre you’re into. Some of them are new, some are old, but all of them are spectacular compilations of songs by incredible artists.

Read ahead and listen to them on Spotify, TIDAL and iTunes!

1 LEMONADE, Beyonce

Look, if you haven’t listened to Beyoncé’s LEMONADE, it’s time. Experts still aren’t sure how, but she has topped her widely-popular self-titled 2014 album, BEYONCE. Beyoncé came back this year with an unbelievably beautiful new album, addressing relationships, self-image and Blackness. Even if you think you don’t like Beyoncé, we guarantee you will after you listen to (and watch) this album.

2 Wildflower, The Avalanches

Talk about a blast from the past! The Avalanches made one of the strongest comebacks in music today with Wildflower, their first album in more than 15 years. This album makes a great sequel to their last album, Since I Left You, with seamless transitions from track to track. The Avalanches stay true to their sound while introducing components we’re not familiar with in their music–most notably the track “Frankie Sinatra” featuring rapper Danny Brown. Give it a listen!

3 XXX, Danny Brown

Speaking of Danny Brown, he’s got some new music coming out hopefully sometime this year, so it’s time to start paying homage to this legend of a rapper. XXX is a classic Danny Brown album, and even though he said last year that his next album is finished, it also isn’t “coming out no time soon.” He recently released his single “When It Rain,” though, so we’re hopeful, and ready!

4 channel ORANGE, Frank Ocean

On the same note as Danny Brown, Frank Ocean has apparently been finished with his next album, Boys Don’t Cry, for at least a year, yet he still hasn’t released it. Recently he posted a photo hinting that the album would be released in July 2016, but we’re skeptical after his last album release claim in 2015. For now, though, we wait patiently while we listen to his classic, dreamy, melodic 2012 album, channel ORANGE.

5 Future Present Past, The Strokes

Okay, so this album may only have 4 tracks on it, but they’re all so good that we had to put it on this list. The Strokes have truly never put out a bad album, and this is no exception. Future Present Past continues to display the songwriting and musical genius of a group that’s been around since the late 90’s. The beautiful thing about The Strokes is how adaptable they are to new eras of music while still maintaining such a strong sense of who they’ve always been. Crucial summer listening material.

6 Blank Face LP, ScHoolboy Q

Remember when ScHoolboy Q’s summer bop of 2013 was “Collard Greens”? Seems like 3 years later, ScHoolboy Q is still dominating our summer playlists, but this time it’s with Blank Face LP. Maybe it’s cliché, but it’s completely true: this album is like nothing you have ever listened to, and this is established from the minute you listen to the first track, “TorcH.” Blank Face LP is one of the most visceral and real portrayals of any rapper in music today, so it deserves a spot on your monthly tunes.

7 Freetown Sound, Blood Orange

If there was a perfect way to start off an album, it’s hard to picture anything but the first track of Freetown Sound, “By Ourselves.” It features a stirring, powerful poem by Ashlee Haze, “For Colored Girls (The Missy Elliot Poem),” that causes instant goose-bumps. Devonté Hynes, the man behind Blood Orange, creates music that we can feel in more places than our ears. His music isn’t just nice to listen to, it’s challenging, fascinating, remarkable. The hype is real for Freetown Sound, so plug in your earphones and take it with you this month.
