Entity encourages young women to teach their grandmas how to use Snapchat

Have you heard your grandmother recently ask you, “Why don’t you post anything on Facebook? I never hear anything about you!”

If you have, it’s time to tell her the truth. Although Facebook had its hey-day, most younger people are “ghosting” the social media platform (scrolling endlessly without actually posting anything). The standard for what’s acceptable to post on Facebook was raised so high, that people didn’t feel comfortable posting anything less than mind-blowing or gut-busting hilarious. Thus, Snapchat was born.

Unless Snapchat is your main platform for posting totally unfiltered shenanigans, your grandmother might appreciate you coaching her through Snapchat.

Why, you may ask? We’ll let the grandmas of Snapchat explain.

She’ll have way too much fun with the filters.

Once she gets the hang of it, Snapchat effects can bring a new flavor to her average everyday snaps. In fact, she might not stop using the effects once she learns how, so be forewarned.

She’ll get to send you cool snapshots of her travels.

As much as your Grandma wants to know about your life, she wants to share parts of her life with you as well.  Regardless of how correct her grammar is, teaching your grandma how to use Snapchat will give her total boasting rights (especially with all of those cruises grandparents go on).

She can use the Greek goddess effect to feel like a femme fatale.

We all like to throw on filters when we’re too lazy to cake on makeup — and grandmas are no exception! Although most of the filters are ridiculous, some of them can make grandmas feel like they’re young selves… if they were going to an eclectic costume party, that is.

You can totally brag about hanging with your grandma (and remind your cousins to visit her, too!)

Let’s be real — we don’t talk to our grandmothers as much as we should, and we visit even less. The least we can do is show off our hangouts and then send those Snaps directly to cousins and sibs. Let them know you’re totally winning massive grandkid points.

Her Snapchat stories will be straight fire.

If you thought your stories were good, prepare to get shown up by your grandma on the daily. They’re honestly just hard to compete with in this category.

Your grandma wants to be a part of your life, and sometimes it’s hard to remember to return texts. But sending her a silly face, or even you with a silly unicorn filter can start a prime Snap-streak between you and your G-ma.

‘Cause let’s be honest. Grandmas are kind of the best.
