For those of you who missed it last night, Lester Holt, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump kicked off the presidential debates for the 2016 elections. Today, women and men are arguing that Senator Clinton “won round one.” But, regardless of who won last night, the most important things you can do as a citizen is to stay informed and actively participate in this election cycle.

Today is National Voter Registration Day; if you haven’t registered to vote, you can do it in as little as one minute and 34 seconds.

However, even if registering to vote doesn’t take very much time, there are various reasons why Americans opt out of elections. As Hank Green from the YouTube channel Vlogbrothers explains in the video above, women and men use excuses like “my vote won’t matter,” “I don’t know how to vote” and “I don’t want to vote for the lesser of two evils.” Whatever your excuse may be, Hank has a response for you.

Besides, why don’t you want to vote for the lesser of two evils? As Hank says, “Do you want to vote for the greater of two evils? Because not voting is like half a vote for the greater of two evils.”

So if you need a little push to convince you to vote, listen to what the YouTube celebrity has to say in the video above.
