Podcasts have recently seen a huge spike in popularity. This spike is widely driven by a shift in who is creating the content. Gone are the days of white men in suits behind the microphone—we are seeing a major change. Thankfully, it has become far easier to find relatable podcasts for women and people of color. Say hello to a podcasting world that gives voice to people of all backgrounds and identities.

It seems like anyone you ask is “listening to the best podcast ever!” And if they’re not listening, they may even be creating them. As of June 2019, there are over 750,000 podcasts available for streaming on platforms such as Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
