Entity has the scoop on five celebrities who don't drink.

Celebrity culture is full of glitz, glamour and fabulous parties – where stars often have a drink in hand.

The pressure to try substances begins in early adolescence. Whatever the illicit or forbidden thing is, everyone is doing it, so you likely want to do it too. This is intensified in the entertainment world, as many performers begin their careers young surrounded by an older crowd who may bend the rules for these stars.

For young women, it is inspiring to know about notable celebs that were against the mold of our upbringing and chose the dry life – even after their 21st birthday. Here are five awesome women that chose to stay clean, sans alcohol.

1 Jennifer Hudson

Hudson revealed on “Chelsea Lately” that she never had a drink in her life. This personal decision made it difficult for her to tap into her role as a heroin addict in “The Inevitable Defeat of Mister & Pete,” according to E! News. When Chelsea questioned the female actress, she simply shrugged.

“I don’t know,” Hudson said. “I’ve never been interested. Nobody ever believes it … When I got this role, I was like, ‘Oh my god, what am I gonna do? What am I gonna pull from to play the role?”

Despite this, she still was able to convince the audience with her sheer talent supplemented by independent research. This sober lady’s success proves alcohol doesn’t always have to be the solution.

2 Jennifer Lopez

The secret to 46-year-old Jennifer Lopez’s youthful look? Skipping the drink! Women’s Health reports that in an Instagram video JLo posted, the celeb’s sister tried to persuade her to go out. JLo smiled but shook her head.

“I think that ruins your skin,” JLo said to InStyle via Women’s Health. “Of course, during celebratory toasts, everybody’s like, ‘You can’t toast with water!’ So I’ll toast with alcohol and just take a sip.”

Balanced alcohol consumption is critical for anyone – but we applaud JLo for her special occasions only attitude. Way to set an example as a responsible partier!

3 Blake Lively

The actress, lifestyle connoisseur and new mother revealed her lifetime sobriety in an interview with Allure Magazine.

“I don’t drink,” Lively said. “I’ve never tried a drug. … It’s just something I genuinely have no desire for.”

Instead, Lively chooses to be a foodie. Although she sticks to a relatively strict diet on a day-to-day basis, she loves to cook and isn’t afraid to indulge with sweet treats.

“I obviously have plenty of imperfections on my body, but I’d rather have a little bit of cellulite and go do a food trip and try every ice cream place in the South,” Lively said via Allure Magazine.

4 Tyra Banks

Huffington Post reports that Tyra’s experience with alcohol can be summed up with a simple sip. She hasn’t touched the bottle for over 30 years.

“I’ve never had any drugs and I had a little taste of alcohol when I was 12 years old, but that’s about it,” Tyra said on her website.

This multifaceted entertainer – with prominent roles as a female actress, singer and author – definitely hasn’t let any substances slow down her momentum. Tyra isn’t your typical party girl; the graduate of the Harvard Business School program definitely means business.

5 Christina Ricci

Although she hit the bottle harder than the other four ladies on our list, Ricci decided on a drier life as she got older. After experiencing the early 20s drinking culture, she cautiously limited her alcohol consumption.

“I was going clubbing all the time [living in New York], partying with Chloë Sevigny and the cool kids,” Ricci told BlackBook. “I woke up one day when I was 19, and it was like I hadn’t seen the sun forever. So I moved to L.A., where it was okay to be responsible, so that I’d stop acting like a crazy maniac.”

Recognizing her drinking behaviors were unhealthy early in her life, she made the choice to abandon the partying lifestyle. You go, girl!
