You can't stay in your seat for this!
Creating a house party playlist is frustrating sometimes. You want upbeat dance songs to jive to, but you don’t know what’s popular nowadays.
Well, you’ve come to the right place.
From Baha Men to Soulja Boy, these are the artists we’ve felt have produced dance songs that leave you wanting to move all night long. Seriously. Even if you’re not a dancer, it’s hard to keep yourself from bobbing your head to these songs.
And for those of you who love a good throwback song, here’s ENTITY’s list of the best dance songs from every year since 2000.
The pump up line: “Who let the dogs out? (Woof, Woof, Woof, Woof) Who let the dogs out? (Woof, Woof, Woof, Woof) Who let the dogs out? (Woof, Woof, Woof, Woof) Who let the dogs out? (Woof, Woof, Woof, Woof)”
Are you an awkward dancer? No problem. Just woof along with Baha Men.
The pump up line: “Let’s get it crunk up on, have fun up on. Up in this dancery. We got ya open, now ya floatin’. So you gots to dance for me. Don’t need no hateration, holleration In this dancery. Let’s get it percolatin’, while you’re waiting. So just dance for me.”
When Mary J. Blige tells you to dance for her, you dance for her. No excuses.
The pump up line: “Let me see you get low (You scared!) Drop that ass to the floor (You scared!) Drop that ass yeah, shake it fast yeah. Pop that ass to the left and the right yeah. Now back, back, back it up. Now stop (oh!) then wiggle with it (yeah!).”
The pump up line: “This is for my peeps, with the Bentley’s, the Hummers, the Benz. Escalades twenty three inch rims (Oh!) Jumping out the Jaguar with the Tims, keep it real. And live good, East coast, West Coast, worldwide. All my players in the hood stay fly. And if you’re balling let me hear you say ride (ride).”
The pump up line: “And I got to keep it real now. Cause on a one to ten, she’s a certified twenty. But that’s just ain’t me (hey!) Cause I don’t know, if I take that chance. Just where’s it gonna lead. But what I do know is the way she dance, make shorty alright with me. The way she get low. I’m like, yeah, work that out for me. She asks for one more dance, and I’m like, yeah. How the hell am I supposed to leave?”
A lot of Usher’s songs are dance songs, but this one is probably our fave.
The pump up line: “If you tipsy stand up. DJ turn it (louder). Take somebody by the waist and (uhh!) Now throw it in they face like (uhh!) Hypnotic robotic, this here will rock yo’ bodies. Take somebody by the waist and (uhh!) Now throw it in they face like (uhh!) Systematic ecstatic (THIS HIT BE AUTOMATIC).”
The pump up line: “Snap ya fingers! Do ya step! You can do it all by yo self! Let me see you do it! Ay! Let me see you do it! Ay!”
Don’t feel like swaying your hips? That’s fine. Just snap!
The pump up line: “Soulja Boy off in this hoe. Watch me crank it. Watch me roll. Watch me crank that Soulja Boy. Then Superman that hoe. Now watch me you (crank that Soulja Boy).”
The pump up line: “Cause if you liked it then you should have put a ring on it. If you liked it then you should’ve put a ring on it. Don’t be mad once you see that he want it. If you liked it then you should’ve put a ring on it.”
You can’t listen to this song without doing the dance. You just can’t.
The pump up line: “Wah, wah, wah wah wah ‘You’re a jerk!’ Why you trippin? I ain’t even do nuttin ‘You’re a jerk!’ ‘You’re a jerk!’ I’m a jerk? You ain’t never lie. But ay, do me a favor, call me jerk one more time.’You’re a jerk!’ (I know) ‘You’re a jerk!’ (I know).”
The pump up line: “They be like, Smoove, can you teach me how to Dougie. You know why? Cause all the bitches love me. All I need is a beat that’s super-bumpin’. And for you, you, and you to back it up and dump it. Put your arms out front, lean side-to-side. They gonna be on you when they see you hit that Dougie, right.”
The pump up line: “My persuasion can build a nation. Endless power. With our love we can devour. You’ll do anything for me. Who run the world? Girls.”
Shoutout to Queen Bey for always rallying women together. Because who run the world? We do.
The pump up line: “We come into your heart when you’re high on love. We come into your mind when you feel a rush. We come into your soul when your God is gone. We come into your smile when you want some fun.”
The pump up line: “And do the Harlem Shake. Ey Shake, Ey.”
The pump up line: “I like us better when we’re wasted. It makes it easier to say it. Lay all your laundry on the bed. And then I’ll lay in it instead. I like us better when we’re wasted. Oh oh oh oh oh.”
The pump up line: “Now watch me whip (Kill it!) Now watch me nae nae (Okay!) Now watch me whip whip. Watch me nae nae (Want me do it?)”
The pump up line: “Strength and guidance. All that I’m wishing for my friends. Nobody makes it from my ends. I had to bust up the silence. You know you gotta stick by me. Soon as you see the text, reply me. I don’t wanna spend time fighting. We’ve got no time. And that’s why I need a one dance.”
The pump up line: “Say go through the darkest of days. Heaven’s a heartbreak away. Never let you go, never let me down. Oh, it’s been a hell of a ride. Driving the edge of a knife. Never let you go, never let me down.”
We saw some of the craziest but best dance songs in the past 17 years. There’s no telling what 2018 will bring.
