If you cried during “Remember The Titans,” trust me when I say you were not the only one who did. One of the things that kept us going throughout this intense movie was a wild-haired, spunky girl Sheryl Yoast aka Hayden Panettiere.

Hayden Panettiere’s movies and TV shows have proven that she is a well-rounded actress. She’s played a hot chick, a murderer and one scandalous country singer. She also dabbled in video games, as she was the voice of a character in “Until Dawn.”

But if you’re wondering what else she’s been up to, here’s what we found.

1 Hayden Panettiere stands up for animals.

Hayden Panettiere doesn’t just say she’s an animal right’s activist, she actually risks her life as an activist as well. In 2007, Panettiere traveled to save dolphins on the coast of Japan and told TV Guide she almost lost her life for the cause.

“I risked my life. A lot of people in this world will say they are involved in causes and organizations, but they don’t actually do something. It was a great feeling to be there physically, making a difference,” she told TV Guide. During this time, attacks on pilot whales by Japanese fishermen were so violent that the waters turned red.

Unfortunately, however, she was forced to leave the country while protesting to avoid being arrested. Even though the dolphin rescue was not a success, Panettiere still campaigns for marine wildlife organizations.

2 She spoke out about her postpartum depression in order to help others.

In 2014, Hayden Panettiere and her husband, Wladimir Klitschko, welcomed a beautiful baby girl named Kaya to the world. She said that soon after the birth of her daughter, she realized that something was wrong.

“I can very much relate. It’s something a lot of women experience. When you’re told about postpartum depression you think it’s ‘I feel negative feelings towards my child, I want to injure or hurt my child.’ I’ve never, ever had those feelings,” she said on “Live! with Kelly and Michael.”

She then added, “Some women do. But you don’t realize how broad of a spectrum you can really experience that on. It’s something that needs to be talked about. Women need to know that they’re not alone and that it does heal.”

3 She was also brave enough to speak publicly about her body issues.

When Hayden Panettiere was 16 years old, a tabloid published a picture of her backside with the words cellulite on the image.

Panettiere said that this image led to her having body dysmorphia, but she eventually was able to realize that the only opinion she should listen to was her own.

“I was mortified. It gave me such body dysmorphia for so long. But I remember reminding myself that beauty is an opinion, not a fact. And it has always made me feel better,” she told Women’s Health Mag.

4 She has a misspelled tattoo.

They say to live life without any regrets, but one Panettiere’s regrets may be a certain tattoo. She has a tattoo that says “no regrets” in Italian, but it is misspelled.

Ouch.

5 She has solidified herself as a country girl.

Hayden Panettiere is a Native New Yorker, but she was inspired to move to Nashville because the people there are pretty laid back. “The people here are amazing. Living in Nashville gives me a sense of normalcy that I wasn’t sure I was ever going to get back in my life,” she told Southern Living.

“When I first got here, all my defenses were still up, and I was waiting for that world to suddenly creep back in,” she added. “When it didn’t, I realized that I can live a normal life here with people who don’t judge you based on what you do or who you are in the public eye.”

And now, you can see Hayden Panettiere in all of her country glory on “Nashville.”

We’re sorry about your tattoo, Hayden, but we’re happy about you being happy now!
