The woman who makes Pharrell Williams "Happy."
Who is Helen Lasichanh? Although the model is pretty private and usually stays out of the spotlight, she is considered to be a style icon.
Pharrell Williams and Helen Lasichanh have known each other for years, but it wasn’t love at first sight. Lasichanh had a boyfriend when the duo first met, but Williams was enamored with Lasichanh from the start of their friendship. For around two and a half years they were just friends before things turned romantic.
The couple initially bonded over their shared love for music, specifically the group A Tribe Called Quest. While we know she loves Pharrell and music, not much else is known about this private woman.
Thankfully, ENTITY has managed to gather a few interesting facts on her below.
A model, designer, wife and mother, Lasichanh has great time management skills and even better taste in couture. Much like her husband Pharrell Williams, Lasichanh is known as a trendsetting public figure.
Williams and Lasichanh married in Miami in 2013 and decided to ditch the traditional wedding attire. Instead, they coordinated plaid ensembles.
Those long, model legs are made for more than just walking down the runway. Lasichanh played volleyball in college at St. Thomas University in Miami, Florida. One thing is for sure, this model is both a star on the court and a star in the fashion world.
Lasichanh shares four children with husband Pharrell Williams. Their first child, Rocket Williams, was born in 2008. When asked about how they chose the name Rocket, Pharrell responded, “the same way the [Native Americans] named their children after a force or animal or element, we named him after a man-made machine that was meant to go up, meant to ascend.”
The duo announced that they were expecting again in September 2016 when Lasichanh, broke the news by showing off her baby bump at a Chanel-hosted dinner. Talk about a stylish baby announcement!
However, she did not reveal that she was carrying three new additions that would soon be joining the Williams family. In January 2017, Williams and Lasichanh unexpectedly welcomed triplets into their family.
Talk about being one big “Happy” family!
Even though it wasn’t love at first sight, Helen Lasichanh and Pharell Williams have a lasting relationship and an ever-growing brood. We’re excited to see how this family expands and changes over the years to come.
