Celebrity relationships blossom when no one's watching.
Evading the paparazzi is an art. Hip-hop recording artist J. Cole basically created it while hiding his ten-year relationship with wife Melissa Heholt.
The couple’s relationship, outed accidentally by movie director Ryan Coogler, is not unique. Many big names care about how thoroughly the public knows them, from musicians to actors to politicians.
Celebrities that keep things private should be given more credit. It’s no one else’s business whether or not celebrities reveal who they are dating, although we love it when they do!
Here are six celebrity couples that kept it “hush, hush” in the public eye.
Marcus Mumford of indie band “Mumford and Sons” and actress Carey Mulligan continue to keep their love quiet. The only time we’ve gotten word from the couple was to confirm their wedding back in 2012. Since then, they have welcomed two beautiful babies into. However, no official news has been actually confirmed directly by the couple until public sightings of the family surfaced.
You won’t catch actor Jamie Foxx mentioning his rumored girlfriend and fellow actress Katie Holmes. The two have reportedly been together since Holmes split from husband Tom Cruise in 2015. Foxx famously avoids answering questions relating to Holmes, so confirmation is looming. But we wouldn’t complain if they confirmed it!
These to teenage heartthrobs found love off-screen and away from their separate, widely popular teen dramas. Nine months after they were outed as an item, the pair secretly tied the knot in February of 2014. There have been public sightings of the couple since, but other than that, they keep it private.
Actress Kristen Stewart came out as bisexual in 2016 and maintains an on and off relationship with model Stella Maxwell. Their relationship is secret enough to warrant zero pictures of the pair on Maxwell’s Instagram despite public knowledge of their relationship. For now, we’ll have to cling to the paparazzi photos of the couple. Whether or not they are on or off right now is a mystery, but we hope they are on!
The acting pair announced their engagement in August of 2015 and married in March of 2017 after three years of dating. Despite Dave’s mention of her on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon,” people still don’t know he’s off the market! His lack of an Instagram account may be to blame for the shortage of public knowledge of the couple. Maybe in the future, we will finally accept that Dave is off the market.
“Riverdale” sweetheart Lili Reinhart is notorious for keeping her personal life private. It’s still unclear if her and Cole Sprouse are an item, but since their recent appearance at the Met Gala, people are betting that they are official! For the sake of Bughead fans everywhere, we hope its true!
