“Duck Dynasty” is a show with a very specific image. A bunch of redneck white dudes with crazy long beards is kind of the theme.

The show received substantially negative press for patriarch Phil Robertson’s controversial remarks in 2013. He compared homosexuality to bestiality and claimed that African Americans were happier in Louisiana before the Civil War. During an appearance on “Hannity,” in 2015 he claimed that the solution to ISIS is that we “either convert them or kill them.”

Needless to say, the show’s image is not one of modernity and open-mindedness. When we think of “Duck Dynasty,” generally the words art, fashion and worldliness don’t come to mind.

But one little duckling is flipping the script.

Rebecca Robertson is a “Duck Dynasty” member that doesn’t quite fit the mold. She is a world traveler, fashionista and a volunteer. Here are five things about the reality show star that may surprise you.

1 She Wasn’t Born Into the “Duck Dynasty” Clan.

Rebecca Robertson is originally from Taiwan. Her father passed away when she was just 11, but her mother is alive and well.  She was an exchange student in the Robertson home while she was in high school. They immediately fell in love with her and accepted her into the family with open arms.

Though Phil and Kay Robertson never legally adopted Rebecca, they still consider her to be their daughter. In an interview with Focus on the Family, Kay said, “I remember telling somebody that I had four kids and one of my little ones said, ‘No, you don’t; you have five.’ And Rebecca just became one of ours.”

Rebecca Robertson may be a designated “Duck,” but she has not forgotten her roots. Her Instagram photo above is a map of Taiwan captioned, “My heart”. Robertson jets off to visit her home country as much as she can and her mother also comes to visit Louisiana occasionally. However, her life is now firmly planted in the U.S.

She recently married on Dec. 3, 2016. And of course, the “Duck Dynasty” clan wouldn’t miss it for the world. Her father, Willie Robertson, cleaned up nicely to walk her down the aisle at her wedding in Mexico. In an Instagram post, her sister and former “Dancing with the Stars” contestant Sadie Robertson stated, “Every single moment was just absolutely priceless. I will cherish the memories forever! I love seeing my family grow.”

2 She has a passion for fashion.

Rebecca Robertson made her first appearance on “Duck Dynasty” in Season five. She returned to Louisiana after interning at a fashion magazine in Los Angeles for two years. Talk about a culture shock! Clearly, though, the internship did the job because her style is off the charts.

If you want to drool over a ton of adorable outfits then just stalk her Instagram. (In the least creepy way possible, of course.) Basically, the lady’s outfits are beyond chic. The look screams free-spirited indie singer meets badass punk rocker.

However, fashion is no longer a pastime for the reality star. With the help of her mom, Kay Robertson, she opened up the store Duck & Dressing in Monroe, Louisiana. Kay told Taste of Country, “Rebecca’s done all the design; she works late hours. She’s done an incredible job. I’m so proud of her and it’s been really fun to do together.” The fashion line is described on their website as “simple edgy, southern and chic.”

The site also includes a fashion blog written and managed by Rebecca herself. If you love her style but can’t hop on a plane to shop there, then feel free to order online.

3 Rebecca and her hubby are seriously the cutest.

This is not an exaggeration. Rebecca Lo Robertson and her husband John Reed Loflin are beyond adorable together. Her husband is her best friend and they have no problem showing it.

When discussing their engagement, Robertson told The Knot, “He took me on a treasure hunt on the beach at sunset and he had the ring hidden in a seashell! I was determined to find the best shell that day – we had been walking and searching for like an hour – and I saw this beautiful swirly shell hidden in the sand, and the ring was hiding in there.” He then proceeded to ask the “Duck Dynasty” heiress if she would spend the rest of her life with him. Too cute!

If you flip through the couple’s photos on Robertson’s social media pages, you can find them doing it all. Sometimes they travel the world together. Other times, they are more than happy to settle for a cozy night at home. But no matter what the couple is doing, there’s always tons of smiling and laughing. No doubt, the honeymoon phase is going strong.

4 Man’s best friend is also Rebecca’s best friend.

This pup may perpetually look bored, but she sure does have a plush life! Robertson takes this little cutie anywhere and everywhere. Anything from arts festivals to all-inclusive tropical vacations, Leaxula is there.

However, it isn’t all fun and games being Rebecca Robertson’s trusted companion.

Okay, it kind of is. She even has her own Instagram page, which is full of hilarious photos of the pouty-faced bulldog.

She loves to dress her furbaby up as Marilyn Monroe, Woody from Toy Story and so much more. There’s even a photo of the poor doggy in a bedazzled bra. This is not a joke.

5 She has a big heart.

Her love for her family and puppy dog is clear. However, Rebecca Robertson’s heart extends beyond that.

Similar to the rest of the “Duck Dynasty” family, Christianity plays a huge role in Rebecca Robertson’s life. The reality star has channeled her love of God into helping those in need. Robertson was a missionary volunteer in 2015 and she traveled to the Dominican Republic to teach.

She recently returned to the Caribbean island with her husband to visit her former students. She displayed her excitement in a photo caption saying, “Can’t wait to see our kiddos.” Judging by these faces, her “niños” were pretty happy to see her, too.

To sum it up, Rebecca shows a different facet of the Robertson family.

Her style stands out like a sore thumb, but in the best possible way. She also kills the Instagram game with adorable photos of her hubby and the perpetually grouchy dog, Leaxula.

Her values of family and religion are in line with the show’s message. However, she takes these beliefs beyond prayer and applies them to nonprofit work in the developing world.

Rebecca Robertson is proof that all stories have more than one side. And we love it.
