An American singer and songwriter, Solange Knowles, most famously known as the younger sister of powerhouse Beyonce Knowles, is sticking up for women of all races and sexual orientations. In 2016, she completed her third studio album, “A Seat at the Table,” and it became her number one best-selling album. Knowles comment is significant and timely, especially during an era when women’s healthcare has been threatened by the Trump Administration. She strives to overcome patriarchy oppressive institutions that threaten women’s rights.
