Erika Christensen? Julia Braverman? They’re basically the same person.
Well, technically Erika Christensen is the actress who played Julia Braverman in “Parenthood.” Anyways, you get it.
For all the Erika Christensen fans out there who are excited to see her in ABC’s new drama, “Ten Days in the Valley,” here are five fun facts about Erika.
Erika was born in Seattle, Washington in 1982. Her father is an insurance worker and H.R. executive. Her mom is a construction manager. When she was around 12 years old her family moved to the suburbs of Los Angeles, California. From then on her parents decided to have Erika home-schooled.
On “Parenthood” Erika played the youngest sibling from the Braverman clan, Julia. She played the determined corporate lawyer by day and loving present mother by night. On the show Erika’s character and her husband adopted a child named Victor, and had a child named Sydney.
This show really allowed Erika to display her talent, because there were many different phases that Erika’s character went through.
Erika has an impressive acting resume. She even appeared as an extra on the show “Webster” at five years old. Her IMDb account shows credits from 20 years ago when she played Karen in the family comedy, “Leave It to Beaver”. This year she co-starred in “The Case of Christ,” which followed the story of a journalist and his wife’s newfound faith in Christ.
When Erika’s parents were in their 20s they became scientologists. Because of this, they chose to raise Erika and her siblings in the controversial Church of Scientology, known for famous members such as Tom Cruise. However, Erika has defended the validity of this religion on many occasions.
In 2015, Erika married cyclist Cole Maness. They actually met at a cycling race. She has said before that they both used to ride an average of 40 miles a day (INSANE). Added bonus — they are both super cute on Instagram.
Go follow them! Secondly, last year they welcomed their first child together, baby girl Shane Maness. She was born on June 21, 2016 and is the cutest!
