ENTITY reports on miranda cosgrove

With the release of “Minions 3,” we’re finally graced with a reappearance from Miranda Cosgrove on the big screen, even it is just her voice.

Cosgrove never planned on becoming an actress until a talent agent approached her in a restaurant in Los Angeles. After appearing in some small commercials, Cosgrove made her film debut with Jack Black’s “School of Rock.” Then, she went on to star in the TV show “Drake & Josh” and, ultimately, her own show, “iCarly.”

In 2012, Cosgrove became the highest paid child actress in the “Guinness Book of World Records.” She then attended the University of Southern California in 2012 and majored in film.

Clearly, Cosgrove isn’t a stranger to hard work and success. So to celebrate her, we decided to compile a list of everything you need to know about the beloved Miranda Cosgrove.

Cosgrove began her acting career with McDonald’s and Mello Yello commercials as a child. Her first television show appearance was as Lana Lang in the pilot episode of “Smallville.” Then after starring in “School of Rock,” she was given a main role in “Drake & Josh” from 2004 to 2007. While she filmed for “Drake & Josh,” she also played smaller roles on other TV shows. She was in an episode of the animated series, “What’s New, Scooby Doo?” and she guest starred in an episode of “Grounded For Life.”

In 2005, she played the voice of Munch in the animated Disney Channel film “Here Comes Peter Cottontail: The Movie.” She then guest starred in two episodes of “Lilo & Stitch: The Series.” She also played the role of Joni North in the movie “Yours, Mine and Ours.” Cosgrove’s third film role was in “Keeping Up with the Steins,” which unfortunately failed at the box office. Later, she was given a role as the voice of Margo in “Despicable Me.”

Outside of film, Cosgrove has guest starred in the Nickelodeon television series “Unfabulous” and “Zoey 101” before starring in her own sitcom, “iCarly,” which ran from 2007 to 2012.

2 Miranda Cosgrove’s songs

Cosgrove’s first singing debut was in “School of Rock,” where she worked with Jim O’Rourke from Sonic Youth to learn how to sing … badly. But, her debut as a recording artist began with the “iCarly” theme song, “Leave It All to Me.”

The soundtrack for the sitcom was released in 2008 and it featured three songs by Cosgrove, including “Stay My Baby” and “About You Now.” Her first solo recording was the “About You Now EP,” featuring five songs. This was released as a promotional tool so it wasn’t considered her debut studio album.

In wasn’t until 2010 when she released her debut studio album called “Sparks Fly,” which featured the single “Kissin’ U.” In 2011, she released her debut tour, “Dancing Crazy Tour,” to support her album.

Then, she released her EP High Maintenance. The single, “Dancing Crazy,” was written by Avril Lavigne, Max Martin and Shellback. Lastly, she released her second and final “iCarly” soundtrack, “iSoundtrack II.”

Cosgrove isn’t on the tabloids very often since she tends to keep her life normal and private. But for those who do want to take a peek into her life, they can go on Cosgrove’s Instagram.

She mostly posts selfies and pictures of her freshly painted nails, but she also occasionally posts throwback pictures of her “iCarly” and “School of Rock” days. Let me tell you, the nostalgia is real when she does.

Cosgrove was actually homeschooled from the sixth grade through high school. Then she attended USC. She’s an only child and her parents are Tom Cosgrove, who owns a dry cleaning business, and Chris Cosgrove, a homemaker. She was born in Los Angeles and she’s of French, English and Irish descent.

Miranda Cosgrove is a successful woman now, but she will always be the perfectly evil and sassy Megan who stole our hearts in 2004 with “Despicable Me.”
